I am so sorry to hear this, Ella. You are a deadset legend and we love and appreciate you. Unfortunately, it is fairly common for companies to put people on permanent contracts to cover mat leave and then let that person go at the six month period when they feel confident the mat leave person will come back. It’s no fun and really doesn’t feel right. Please don’t be embarrassed. You’ve not let anyone down. You are a treasure💕

Wow I feel you. I was bullied at my job, so much so that 2 weeks ago I was gonna take my life. I went into councling and meds and was told my job will be there when I come back. Those bullies got away with what they did, and I was let go as I'm a liability having mental issues. I was devastated, what the bullies did to me was bad enough, but my company handed me the rope. I'll never understand how lazy, toxic and nasty people always win. I have a 16yr old boy to look after and he is why I'm still here. You're not alone, we'll both come out the other end. Xx

My story is so similar. My boss and I on Friday were talking about a promotion, a large raise “to pay me what I am worth” and on Monday I got laid off. My boss was just as shocked as I was and in tears. Luckily too, I got 2 months pay with medical benefits, but it’s such a weird and shameful feeling. Even though I honestly don’t believe we should feel shame. Anyway. Good luck! You got this! ❤

OMG i can’t believe this.. given that it has nothing to do with your performance it’s probably a budget/money based decision but it’s so terrible that they’ve done that to you. take it as a sign that something much better is out there for you and your potential was being undervalued. social media full time??? hehe

I left a toxic job two years ago and it is still hard today dealing with the consequences knowing that you gave so much to a company who treated you like trash in the end! Sending you lot's of love and light girlie! Know that better things are coming your way! 💞✨

Probably cheaper for company to keep someone for 6 months only & then not have to upscale their pay, having garnered good business ideas from them before dispensing with them.

When I got let go from my contract job 2 years ago today it was such a blessing in disguise because now I'm in a job I love SO much, am valued and appreciated and simultaneously getting to chase my dreams! This exact thing happened to me ,26 female quit my previous job due to toxicity and not fulfilling, found another job immediately, got praised of my work ethic and dedication and out of nowhere laid of on the sixth month mark on September. I couldn't even bring myself to tell my parents or siblings or friends for a whole month. I was in absolute denial until it dawned on me the first step to moving on is acceptable. Still unemployed trying to figure things out , can't wait for the year to end and be hopeful for 2023.

Hey lovely, I work in construction too. The property market is cooling, interest rates are going up and so cash flow is a real problem for many companies. Don’t feel bad, it’s not a reflection on you. They wouldn’t have provided the additional pay if it was.

It breaks my heart to hear you say you think you're a failure. You definitely aren't and I'm so sorry life has dealt you these crappy cards. It's so awful that a workplace can make you think everything is absolutely fine and drop this bombshell on you, I think that's just so wrong and isn't a reflection of you at all. I know you are going to move on to bigger and better things and you are going to just be SO successful.
