I think Shelpy really misses Oakley. I've noticed Shelpy wines a !ot now that Oakkey is gone . I know you know animals grieve like we do. I had a cat that was grieving my husband a year after he was gone

Shelby has been alone with each of the 3 other dogs. She was the second to Shiloh before they got Oakley. With Oakley, it was after Shiloh passed, and before they got Memphis, then with Memphis since Oakley passed. She misses both Oakley and Shiloh, but now she’s the big sister, and maybe she is just used to having an older dog around.

Jess you are so kindhearted, I know how you feel. Two years ago I lost my pup to a terrible accident. She was only 2 years old and it broke my heart. I found her winter coat in a closet I was cleaning out and I bawled like a baby. Memphis comforting you was the best. Hugs from Canada and congrats on the new pup. You should call your new pup Moss! I love how both the girls handle it when you’re sad. My little Terrier mix, Mooney, used to snuggle up to me extra close when I’d cry too. My Golden, Sadie, always would wander over by me, pic a spot where she could watch me and just lay there keeping her eyes on me. I had both dogs at the same time so when I was sad I got lots of attention. It’s amazing how in tune to our emotions they are and how they will give all they can to try and make things better.

For my two dogs that have passed away, I have one leash by the back door and one by the front door. I really should make a space for them to be side by side. Maybe that will be this summers project. I suggest you put little wings on the S and O since Shiloh and Oakley are now fur angels.

Ya know, every time I lose something (which is often) I turn IMMEDIATELY to St. Anthony and ask for his help in locating whatever... My prayer is ALWAYS answered, even if it means I have to sit still and be quiet for a few minutes to recollect. I could go on with miracle stories of how St. Anthony guides with the craziest results. Next time, why don't you send him a quick request and see what happens. (Of course now when he hears from me he says, "Oh brother, it's HER again." LOL) And it's always a good thing to celebrate the lives of our pets.

Have you thought about framing Shilohs and Oakleys harnesses Jess to protect them from any damage or dust etc? You could still place the frames where youve got them at the top xxxx

I love how the girls tried to calm you down both in their own unique way: Memphis going straight for the snuggle and Shelby doing sad so you have to concentrate on her sadness more then yours as a distraction. Happy you found the harness

Actually, you can spell out "MOSS" (like moss at the base of a tree). Don't forget to keep the ice packs from your food box. They are really good for keep you cool and if the dogs get real hot, maybe they could use an ice pack too. Much love to you guys.
