Think about it - both Klaus and Vanya embraced their powers because of their significant others (Dave and Leonard respectively, regardless of how toxic V/L relations were), but for Vanya it caused only pain and destruction while Klaus managed to gain control over his abilities and life (relations with his family, motivation to keep going). I think it was a beautiful subplot for a season.

Them going back in time causes Klaus to never get the suitcase and therefore never travel back in time to meet Dave. It's sad. But maybe Dave's spirit will remember even though it's a different time line or maybe Klaus not being in the war, Dave wasn't at that exact spot and therefore never died to begin with, Klaus would possibly run into Dave when he's an old man. It's sad for sure.

Klaus was one of my favorite characters along with Number 5. Klaus seemed to be struggling with inner demons, trying to get sober, the loss of a lover named Dave, not knowing his full potential until the end of the last episode, and for God's sake, he was thrown, choked, and taken hostage once. I mean, Klaus went through it all, which is why I loved him the most tbh.

Until he literally saves their asses, no one in the family (except Ben, and kinda Diego) really ever supported him, always ignored him and put him down. He disappeared and no one noticed. He literally could have been dead and no one would have known, and frankly, before the last episode, I don’t think they really would have cared.

communistdaughter when Klaus told Diego he’d lost someone, Diego used the excuse that he’d lost two people, but what we’ve seen from what little interaction there’s been between Grace and Klaus, Klaus lost her too. He seemed happy when she put out a small fire for him, a fire he was more than capable of putting out himself. Gotta day though, Grace didn’t seem to like Klaus much. They had barely any interaction throughout the whole show, and what little we see of them interacting, she was putting out a fire Klaus probably started and said ‘boys will be boys’ instead of making sure he was okay or saying something like ‘please don’t do that again’ or ‘be more careful next time’ like she would’ve with the other siblings. She was probably just rushing, but she did take her sweet time helping out Diego, but understandable he was her favourite. Idk, just thought that Klaus would’ve had more interaction with his mum since he seems like the kind of person who would either be super kind to their parent after a loss or made subtle digs at her, but he just flat out didn’t talk to her the whole show. (We do see Mama Klaus is one episode tho- making the bois coffee)

when I started the umbrella academy, I thought “klaus is a crazy stupid man🙄” but no, he’s the most lovely and broken baby ever also the strongest. he used to drugs, etc, but it was because of he CAN SEE their dead brother & ghosts, and he has a trauma bc of his own dad. he lost his love of his life in war and his siblings didn’t understand him because they DIDN’T LISTEN him.
