This place is amazing!!!! How incredible! It would be so neat to get to feed and help care for the elephants! Really nice that they filmed it for you too!!

In Africa we said "I am a friend of the elephant" a lot! We saw many elephants on a safari but were not able to touch them. So cool that you were able to feed them. They are gorgeous!

We are heading to Samui as part of our Christmas holiday and visiting an ethical elephant sanctuary is near the top of our list. This place looks great - I’m guessing you have to book and were there many others in attendance and other elephant
@NataliesPassport2 жыл бұрын
I did seem very ethical there! I believe you can message them on facebook @iloveelephantsamui to reserve as they only have the program 3 times a day. We were really lucky that we happened to show up at the right time and there still weren't many tourists cuz of covid. Unfortunately when we went it was just the one elephant 🥺 they said they had another one prior who had recently died and they were currently saving up to rescue another one. Hopefully by now they have one so YoYo isn't alone! Maybe you can ask when you try to reserve 🤷♀️ hope you have a great Christmas holiday!!

@@NataliesPassport thanks for the reply. I’ll send them a message on Facebook and see what I can arrange. Even if while on a bike tour around the island like you guys we stop by to make a donation hopefully it’ll help make a difference for them. It would appear this seems to be the more personal sanctuary compared to some of the bigger ones on the island

@@kevinjeffery792 aww that’s amazing!! I’m sure they’d appreciate it! If you do make it over there, make sure you don’t miss the mummified monk in the temple where you park! (It’s at the end of this video). We almost missed him. If you look up the process of how to become a mummified monk it’s so crazy 😱 neat to see when you know the history of it!

For your information about the mummified monk. Wearing sunglasses to cover the eye area. The degenerative tissue on the eyes can look scary. Therefore, covering the eye area with sunglasses will not make the person looking scary.
@NataliesPassport2 жыл бұрын
😬😬 I guess that makes sense. It's a good thing he was wearing sunglasses because I don't think either of us would've liked to see that!! I'm still amazed that mummified monks are a thing 😱
