I quiet recall in 2014 when Xabi Alonso went to Bayern and Toni Kroos coming to Real Madrid, they made fun of that swap. They claimed an apprentice in Toni has been replaced with a master in Xabi. But hay, what a transformation in then so called apprentice!. He has virtually won everything there is to win in Club football!. The likes of Tony Kroos are very rare in football.
