This is a plain and simple video --- but it is full of loving memories: the thought of Oman, Al-Bustan (the Garden), being away from home, family, distance, airplane ride, family summer dip.... The content of video gives justice to this beautiful song or either way the music is appropriate to the video. Regardless of what, this is one great dedication of someone to his dear someone.... كارول و مروان Mabrook & masalamah... Great job, Jun !!!

NIce post... I wonder how many know the black and white picture you posted here has four Lettermen in it. Jim Pike, Bob Engemann, Tony Butala and Gary Pike, who used to play bass in the Wilson Brown trio who toured with and backed up The Lettermen. Gary used to come up and sing "Summer Place" which is a four part song.

jundao55..The Lettermen recorded many of the popular music of the era..Percy Faith Orchestra recorded the soundtrack to the movie Summer Place but the Letterman also recorded it and "See You in September" was the song I played over and over again when I was a kid come home from summer vacation and thining about my summer romances..It was such a romantic time...Ahh those were such beautiful times...

I wonder why the Pike Brothers never form a group like Reunion when they are all alive as I can see from the photo. So Donny is the bearded guy in the pic shown in this video. He is as good as his brothers in harmonizing and this makes me wonder why he was not included in the group called Reunion. I wish I could see clips of the 3 singing together

Actually they are all Lettermen. Tony Butala, Jim Pike, and Bob Engemann were the originals, Gary Pike took Bob Engemann's place, and Donny Pike (the guy with the beard) took his brother Jim's place when Jim lost his voice. And the others in the picture are the ones who sang with Tony (and currently still sing with Tony) as The Lettermen. Jim Pike, Bob Engemann, and Jim Pike (along with various others) formed "Reunion" because Tony had the rights to the Lettermen name.
@mrgarypike8 жыл бұрын
To Bob Hay: When the famed Lettermen first started, under the inspiration of Jim Pike, with Bob Engemann and Tony Butala they had not chosen a name yet. Bob suggested the name Lettermen because he sang in group with that name in high school. Tony said he also sang in group by that name in a revue in Las Vegas. They chose that name and registered it in all three of their names. When Bobby left the group he sold his 1/3 share to Jim and Tony and when Jim left the group he sold his1/2 share to Tony and that's how he ended up with the name.. This is accurate and true history..
