After seeing this episode I had to look up Jimmy Demaret. He was a great champion and how hilarious is it that he did the “hop skip and a jump” swing for this bit! 🤣 The audience reaction is always so much fun to hear. Greatest show in history.

@@raulshah haha No, I am not old enough to have watched it in its original run, but I watched it on reruns as a kid in the 70s. It was a show almost everybody watched, mostly because it was great, but also because there were only SEVEN channels to choose from on TV. So, as a result, you would watch a show or a sporting event on TV then be able to talk about it with a lot of people because there was a pretty good chance they watched it too. Different times..nowadays there are thousands of channels to choose from, so much variety in programming, etc. which creates different viewer markets, so it is rare for a mass audience to share the same viewer experiences, conversations about shows, cultural references, etc... It is a different world when it comes to TV viewing these days!

@@raulshah Hi! No, I'm 25 years old, so I grew up watching reruns. However, from what I have learned, the show was HUGE. Stores closed early on Monday evenings so people could watch "I Love Lucy." Ratings were consistently strong until the very end of the show. There were ups and downs occasionally, but it was a widely popular show that had fans of all ages and both men and women liked watching it. I hope that gives you some perspective on it!

I a have fellow "bar fly" friend that plays golf. He's actually played in Scotland. He is from West Texas. I was thinking of him today since the bars are closed. This was a very "zany" episode that I enjoyed immensely! It is sheer Lucy at her finest! The boys reactions were "priceless !!" Thanks for this gem!

Penalty Blooper: Contrary to Ricky's right-leg-only direction for the giant step, which Lucy repeated as she took the step, she took her giant step with her left leg only. Why I noticed that I have no idea, but thanks for good Golf Day video.

She was a comic genius but wouldn't give autogtaphs or talk to any of us common people. I dodn't like her later shows because she appeared to be a bit doped up and she died of an ruptured aorta with poppers in her system. You can see her very doped up in a Johnny Carson interview on youtube.
