I love my VINYLS… a rant against snobbery & gatekeeping in the record community | Ever-Curious Geek

Call them vinyl, call them records… you can even call them VINYLS if you want to. You’ll get no judgment from me. This is an off-the-cuff rant on the whole problem of gatekeeping and snobbery in the vinyl community. When those new to the hobby join a subreddit or Facebook group and talk about their brand new Crosley Cruiser record player, they tend to get a lot of flack from audiophiles and record snobs, talking down to them like their idiots. I’ve always hated this dynamic in the music community, and I’m calling it out. Let people enjoy their hobby and love the music. Keep spinning… I’m always down for talking records with you.
