I take great pride in being the progenitor of the Harkinian dinner break GIF. It’s what all true Wifi warriors strive for. Although, I’m not quite sure what the jab at Royling is all about…
@DeepFriedVegan3 жыл бұрын
Nice to have found the source! Which 'jab' if you must call it that? there were two lol. Both were simply jokes, had a good laugh at them while I was writing the script and editing.

@@DeepFriedVegan Two clips that amount to the same thing, that I can both juxtapose to the rest of the video and say they’re out of place. The rest is genuinely funny, good-hearted satirical commentary, with great transitions and editing in general; dealing with individuals, though, you have to assess not only how well you know them, but also, are they actually deserving of being represented in this way? This is explicitly about Royling. At the end of the day, what he posts is not my concern, my concern is solely about him, and I’m not interested in any deflections to his posting habits. Please take this from someone who has the experience of having gotten themself into a lot of trouble over matters such as this. So he makes a habit of retweeting suggestive art. Your immediate punchline is he has mental issues. But your disclaimer is supposed to protect you from accountability, right? This is entertainment after all - you tricked yourself into thinking that it wasn’t imperative that you stop and think critically about what you were writing (or improvising, as I often do), and how that will impact those involved. I’m saying that it seems as though he’s been singled out over something trivial. If Royling’s timeline brings you and others some pious high, if “it’s literally horny on main bro,” “it’s just a joke bro,” if that deserves to be mocked, then continue, you’ve every right to do so, and who am I to stop you. But, if you recognise that you could have made just about any other joke at Royling’s expense about his activity on Twitter, that doesn’t involve challenging his mental health (there’s just been a whole revival of a Beavis and Butthead meme from donkeys ago, a free opportunity to start TALKING ABOUT THE booba), if you are cognisant that doing a little dinner breaking is about the camaraderie of waiting for your opponent to scuttle down Greggs sausage rolls at the pace of eroding rocks, and NOT a good excuse to point and say “HORNY (idk you have mental issues),” if you understand that I’m having a hard time comprehending how the fuck you went from “Royling posts boobs” to “Royling is mentally ill,” then you keep this in mind when next you have a spark of genius to chronicle the highs and lows that we’ve all gone through. TL;DR From someone who’s been around the block, stand in the shoes of others and don’t be so bull-headed next time. Think. Does Royling deserve to be represented in this manner? Is the punchline appropriate for the context and buildup?

@@big_bm I think they fit well, If I find something I personally find funny or laugh out loud to while im editing then i'll consider adding it in. It's really not that deep. I don't know Royling well that's why the two clips shouldn't be taken seriously. I think it's fine to represent them in this way, rting borderline hentai is one of the ways they have presented themselves on the internet and I'm pointing that out. There are definitely more things I could point out about him in future videos tbh lol. I didn't say mental issues specifically. Actually, I did stop and critically think about both the royling clips and the dreegon skit. I even checked it with a few people and they all understood that it was a joke and shouldn't be taken seriously. Was it a risk? Sure but I knew that and I was willing to take it, and will continue to do so for my future videos. I knew that it could impact him, but that's not up to me to decide how he takes it. He can either take it as a joke like dreegon did, or take it so seriously that he has to block me and send you out to talk about this which is so hilarious and cowardly. Speaking of Dreegon, it's funny how you're not mentioning anything about him even though the skit was a lot more "offensive" than the parts with royling in it. Seems like selective justice to me, the fact that you've said nothing about the other potentially offensive stuff in the video is pretty disingenuous ngl and I don't think you're acting in good faith here. You just care that it happened to your GT friend Royling. If it was someone else you wouldn't bat an eye, and you know that. Dreegon took it well because he knew it was a joke, and I respect him so much for that. Even niceface who wasn't okay with what I mentioned in the cb video came to an understanding with me, and I understood him too. We discussed it like adults and now were on good terms. None of them twisted my words like royling did by saying I thought the drawings weren't good (never said or implied that) and that I said he has the mental age of 5 because of rting the drawings (also never said or implied that, and it was literally a joke like Ikanger said).
@DeepFriedVegan3 жыл бұрын
Again, didn't say mentally ill. Obviously he doesn't have the mental age of 5 either, but I'm confident that a lot of people would agree with me when I say that the way he reacted to this is childish to say the least. I don't even know why you're coming to me with this and not him, again that's pretty cowardly and not the way to deal with this. It really isn't that deep and I wouldn't be surprised if you guys got so pressed over this video in a gc or something. Anyways I don't want to talk to you further about this because as far as I'm concerned you aren't relevant to any of this. You aren't in the video. TL;DR I know what i'm doing with my content and I know the risks involved. Thinking this video is a serious representation of Royling is very dumb or you're purposefully taking it seriously to support Royling's irrational reaction to this video because he's your friend. You aren't royling, idk you, so I won't be talking about this to you further. He can talk to me about it if he wants to.

@@DeepFriedVegan I appreciate you having read all the way and responding, but a few things, if you still give this any energy: “I didn’t say mental issues specifically” - 0:39 & “having the mental age of 5 like RoyKoopa.” I misread this, I apologise. The punchline is that Royling is childish. Which he *can* be sometimes… much to my chagrin… but it was construed by him, and me, as having mental issues. This was about Royling, please don’t deflect or shift the goalposts by asking about Dreegon or people who you’ve dealt with that aren’t in this video. We call that whataboutism. And we call what I just wrote in my last sentence the fallacy fallacy. In brief: “You just care about your GT friend Royling.” Yes.🗿I’m glad ya noticed! “He can either take it as a joke… or block me and send you out to talk about this which is so hilarious and cowardly… I don’t know why you’re coming to me with this and not him, again that’s pretty cowardly and not the way to deal with this.” Who’s cowardly here? Me? Royling? The both of us? I did this of my own volition without talking to Royling first, I’m not clairvoyant, the only thing I knew it that he didn’t find it very funny. You ever heard of rising to the occasion and standing up for friends? Of course you have, you’ve stood up for your friends before, and I think that’s the absolute antithesis of being a coward, even if the issue takes root in a misunderstanding. And as for Royling being a coward… I know very well that he can speak for himself, and if you’re so concerned about that, then I won’t speculate on whether he’ll approach you when the dust’s settled. If I was a flying monkey, you’d think I’d have harsher, more scathing words; and if you think what I’ve written matches that description, then my only answer is I don’t hate you, I don’t like you, we’re neutral as far as my understanding, if I’ve got a problem, I will not discriminate in not blowing smoke up your ass - friend, acquaintance, or otherwise. Your preconception that Royling would ‘send’ me in after whatever interaction between us you thought transpired - or whether my standing up for him is some clandestine contract that says I agree to kiss his ass for all eternity - says more about how you’ve thought and felt about this situation, than it says for how I have objectively acted, which, again, was out of my own free will, as my own person, not on behalf of Royling, not on behalf of Grilling Time. But at the end of the day, what’s more important than any of this: You know what content you wanna make, you know the risks involved, you’ve got goals, and I’m sure you know you’ve got the skills to see them through. That’s great to know you’re organised and know what matters. If you do end up wanting to discuss this any further, you prooooobably share Discord servers with me. I’ll be happy to resolve through DMs any unanswered conflicts that should be put to bed now that we’ve both said our piece out in this open forum.
