I will have a 4th grader and 2nd grader for the upcoming year. We’ve never done Sonlight. Do you think we should do Science A or Science B?

I'm doing Bookshark Level E Science next year with my two. I'm very pleased with the quality of the materials! I look forward to using it.

That peroidic table book comes as a lift the flap?! 😲 My kids will be thrilled!! We have a similar book (probably all the same info) from a puzzle from Usborn. We have adored it, and my little 3 and 5 year old will rattle off facts about all sorts of elements! Ha!

Thank you for the video! I have a 3rd and 6th grader next year! I looked at sonlight science c but I feel like the science b subject matter seems more interesting for the both of them. But do you feel like it would be too simple for my 6th grader?

Sorry for the slow response! I think Sonlight B could easily be used for a 6th grader, you just might have to add a bit … documentaries and such!

Thanks for the video! What age/grade level were your kids when you did this curriculum? What age/grade level do you suggest now that you have completed it? I am looking into it for our first year of homeschooling for my daughter who will be 2nd grade turning 7 yrs old. She was in public school so far. Science isn't her passion but she loves reading and animals. Wondering if you think it would be better to do the Science A or jump right into B?

I would say either would work well - you should see what topics she may be more interested in and go with that level :)

Great review! We were gifted Sonlight Science B and D complete with readers (c2017 editions). I have the same age children as you; a 9.5 yo and 8 yo in Sept. I know the Sonlight Science editions have changed but there are still some similarities... Would you say Science B is too young for the older kiddos for next year? Up to this point we've only dabbled in random science units. Thanks for your thoughts

Honestly, I think you could probably do either B or D ... although you might have to add a bit to B, but again it just depends on how much science you want to do or have room for!

What enrichment schools for your kids go to? Is it a franchise, a club, co-op, etc? Curious on how you use these!

Hi, it is actually a publicly funded program. So I’m not required to teach or even pay for it - it is really amazing!!

Is there a master supply list for the things NOT included in the science kit? I just ordered it and want to brace myself for if have to go through each experiment or if I will have a master list.

@@sciencemama totally understand! I'm having a baby in October, so I wanted to get the things together for the first semester so I don't have to think about it. I did reach out to Sonlight, they said the guide will have a complete list of supplies I need to provide, so that's great.

Can you show the teachers guide? I tried Sonlight once and just felt like it bounced around a lot and wasn't very user friendly for me haha. But this sounds awesome!

Which science did you like better, A or B. I have a second grader and I want to use sonlight science. Debating between starting with A or B. This will be our first time using a true science program. Thank you!!!!!

Science A or B for a k and 2nd grader? We haven’t done much science to this point.

Both are really fun - I would say ask them what they are most interested and start there!

about how long do you think Science B takes daily?

Not long at all ... maybe 10-15 minutes on non-experiment days! Maybe longer if we get into a good conversation or look up something extra!
