The look is awesome. I love the flexibility with the tuning. It reminds me of what Archer was doing. It sounds like they almost hit it out of the park, but the non swapppable battery is really a bummer. We all know it’s way too easy to forget to charge and that really puts ya in a spot that you can’t carry some insurance. Otherwise, stoked to see what they do next. Definitely looks cool!

@@B1KER completely agree with you. I’ve been following some Reddit boards on this battery situation and it looks like some people have been able to get replacement batteries from wheeltop. That would be a huge benefit to me, I’d love to keep one in my truck and in my seat pack just in case.

I actually like this much more, its a securely screwed on battery, adding security like shimano offers. Youre not having your battery pop off on a bumpy road, nor are you forgetting it at home. And you can replace it easily if it wears out.

How lazy are you twit? All electronic groupsets have ways of checking the charge, and most groups have months of shifting in them. Stay at home, your a danger to everyone

JT, while about (gravel) Have you ridden the Green Circle in Stevens Point. It is a flowing trail along the Wis River. Has loops between (25 & 40) miles if you go into the Southern Plover loops. Partly city routes (but not alot) Many upgrades for food or drink though. Usually start at Iverson Park for a nice central location. (nice restrooms and parking).

@@MJKOLODZIK I’m pretty bad at wrapping the bars with grip tape so conservatively I’d say 2 hours for the install of the components and another hour for the grip tape.

Thanks for the video. So in theory this should work with the new red transmission 13 speed cassette right? Also do you know if the regular sram force or rival road shifters are programmable to run 13 speed? Thanks again for your video, I’ll definitely be getting this group set for my new budget build. Cheers.
@TheDustyDutchman7 сағат бұрын
@@TheSimonibb yes this should in theory work on any cassette up to 14 speeds. But I don’t think you can change the number of gears in the programming of a sram AXS. I believe you are locked into the number of gears the shifter is set up with sram. Not sure about Shimano tho.

Wheeltop GeX Gravel Kit $472 (eBay)
@ianhaigh9786Күн бұрын
Great vid, thanks. I've had it fitted for 3 rides now, I love that I can chane between 12 speed wheels with a mtb cassette to an 11 speed wheelset with an 11 speed gravel cassette in a few minutes. Change the cassette speeds and fine tune a couple of gears in the app and good to go. With small hands I love the shape of the shifters, plus the fact they come pre-bled, I didn't need to do any brake bleeding at all, just cut the hoses, tried not to spill any fluid out, fit them to the shifters and they worked perfectly out of the box..... and Wheeltop also include a free bleed kit, which obviously I haven't opened. So far it has been great for me, one ride I didn't quite have one gear tuned properly, so pulled out my phone and the app, tuned on the go and didn't even have to stop riding with the group I was with..... so so far, so good, even with a 5 hour wet muddy and sandy gravel ride, the groupset has just been great..... lets hope it continues this way.

@@ianhaigh9786 that’s awesome, thanks for sharing your experience! I agree with the brake bleeding, little to no bleeding is needed and the lever feels great.

The non removable battery is because of an Sram patent. Seems kinda ridiculous.

Met some of the wheeltop staff at the shanghai bike show back in May earlier this year. Exchanged details to discuss potential distribution opportunities for our core markets. Their staff couldn’t answer a single technical production question regarding specifications and compatibility. Furthermore, they couldn’t provide any training material or technical data sheet. They also couldn’t answer any questions relating to after service or product training. they only care about selling and moving volume. Being Chinese, I genuinely support Chinese products but this brand is an actual shitshow.
