Very interesting to see the differences! I have several Sepia colours: Warm Sepia from Sennelier (PBr7, PBk7) is apparently the same as Jackson’s and I really like it - it’s the only one I can remember using. It does have that vintage look! Schmincke’s Sepia Brown (PB15:1, PBr7, PBk9) is still slightly cooler than the W&N version. My darkest and coolest one is by Lukas (PY42, PBk7), it’s almost black in its most concentrated form, but still washes out to a lovely light greyish brown. They all would be great for monochromatic studies!

The Jackson’s line has surprised me throughout this swatching series. Thanks for sharing again.

I have Daniel Smith's Sepia, PBk9 PBr7, which I love. It looks similar to the Winsor & Newton professional example above

Thanks for this review. I have a short supply of neutrals and this will help with my choices.

Winsor and Newton's vandyke brown is close in colour to Jackson’s warm sepia, a nice neutral brown but not grey or black leaning which is my preference 😊interesting to see different brands options

I actually use NBr 9 (Kremer Pigments). Smells a bit fishy though. But such a nice colour. Thanks for the video.

I love Schmincke sepia, but I would say any of the artist's quality sepia are good and as you show here, have their individual qualities.
