The thing about YG artists is its not just about having good performance they are known to have strong charisma and great stage presence regardless of what song they perform it always leaves a mark to the audience. I understand where the critique of suhyun and kang sungyoon is coming from.

Criticism, as long as it is constructive like yoons and suhyuns, is great. Remember they are still being evaluated. Showering these girls with praises will only lead to complacency. You dont want them to think they are already good even though they are amazing. You want them to be grounded and be on their toes all the time

I think that the vocals were definitely on point. I like the change up in the chorus which was a beautiful surprise. It showed their harmonies beautifully. If I was to say one thing about the performance side of it, it didn't feel organic. When BLACKPINK performs this song they start in a seating position most times and stand up like they did but what they didn't do was to engage the audience. There are ways to do that without having crazy dance moves like putting an arm around another member to show the emotion that they want them close and not to leave their side. The fact that they were standing while singing like covid spacing made it seem a little disjointed. If they were going to stand that far apart then they should have done something like take the entire stage and then come close together to stand right next to each other. They could have started in a more spread out positions and then walk closer together during the performance to show that they wanted each other to 'stay' with them. I think if they thought about the fact that any one of them on stage could be eliminated from the group and sent home. They might have performed it differently. They would be singing it to each other and the despreation that Jennie mentioned would have really shown in the performance. I think that is what they were looking for when critiquing the performance. Jennie mentored them more than anyone really knows because she was giving them the experience of what made BLACKPINK, BLAKCPINK. The fact that they started with 9 trainees for the Pink Punk project before they became BLACKPINK and that Jennie had to see each one do home either because they dropped out or didn't past evaluation and I believe that Jennie didnt' want to see the same happen to these girls. Please don't take it the wrong way. I think that all of them should debut because they are talented. But I think that the criticism was fair in the fact that they could have done better. They are doing it from a place of love and want to see these girls succeed once they debut. It is like they are trying to protect them from the harsh reality of the current state of the world where they will be criticized more harshly for every little thing that they do. BLACKPINK gets criticized for all kinds of stuff that is just little mistakes or not really a mistake rather a more western choice. I don't want these girls to experience that or at least have training on how to cope with the negativity that will probably be coming their way. I think that YG is smart in the sense that this series has really taken some of the negativity off of the girls and put it on himself

i thought it was good the first time i saw it in the episode but since they released the clean version, the seniors have a point. they looked pretty stiff. it's not too obvious since the camera shot changes every now and then but imagine it looks different when you are watching them with only one view on stage. i see some toxic fans hating on their seniors on twitter because of the comments but these were said with love and concern for them. the producers did not say the same because they only care about how they hear a song, but the perspective of someone who has experience performing onstage is entirely different. suhyun can break my heart while she's singing with her eyes closed and just standing still. seungyoon can make his audience cry even if he's singing with a funny mask on. and they can do that even if i don't understand a word of what they're singing. both of them debuted as teenagers and received much harsher comments before. they, of all people know what they are talking about.

Suhyun and Yoon are one of GREAT vocalists in Korea. I think they were right in terms of Team B performances. Their vocal was excellent but their performance was so stiff and it feels like they are nervous or tired. YG always produce artists that are best in live performances. That's why it is a real deal to them.
