With what companies want today to do earthmoving or landscaping, like $5000 every time you turn around, VideoBob did great on that thing. The work he can get done with it will cut out literally $20,000 in bills from hiring it done. Me and Bob think alike

Have you priced a low hour zero-turn lately? $5,000 is becoming the norm without the hydraulic arm.

@@AkioWasRight yeah, but many zero turn mowers (which this is not) are priced at $5K are made and/or assembled in North America and have Briggs or Kohler or better engines. You're comparing apples and oranges!

@@raaawkstaaar No, you won't. And I didn't compare anything. I'm not talking about anything American made, I'm talking the same "budget" level quality. If we're talking low hour, you won't find much quality American branded equipment for $5,000.

I have been using one of these for a while now. Not so jerky once you learn the controls. Just be careful lifting and digging because they tip forward easily.. The regular thumbs work well.

I like your water ballast idea Early in the video you mentioned a counter weight. I immediately started thinking of a rack to add a 55 gallon drum with a drain valve.

Bob, you should build a carport where you could put at least 4 cars to protect them and you from the heat when you enter them. And also from the bad weather that you get more and more often.

I drive a 1970 Karmann Ghia. It is air cooled as you know. It needs to get as much air as it can possibly get. If you restrict it just a bit your temp will go up. The water idea is good but you’re gonna restrict the air flow. Fans are a great idea but my thought is you may have to get a power converter of another electrical source. Good buy Bob. Have fun

Small machines like that are very sensitive in the hydraulics. No much to do about it but as you say be VERY gentle on the handles. You can try and reduce the hydraulic pump but after a short time of driving and learning to drive it you learn how several commands like turn and move he boom and stick at the same time need more preassure from the pump.

Hey Bob like someone suggested you should just buy a couple big galvanized steel carports that you see everyone have and park your equipment and cars underneath those. I don't know how much they cost now probably a lot more than they used to but back in the day 2 mexicans would come out and set them up for you for about a $1000 installed. I believe the company is American Steel. I've got two of them in my driveway and I love em😁

I’m looking forward to this one for sure!! I’ve been looking at these myself. I don’t do HUGE landscaping jobs and frankly don’t want to. These are perfect for a lot of the jobs I do. And I see your need for sure @VideoBob.. You could “hire” it done.. but that’s sometimes over $100hr depending on the job location etc.. By the time you get all the work you need done by paying someone.. I’m pretty sure you’re coming out ahead this way.. plus still have the machine for future jobs. Looking forward to this series big time!! Stay blessed brother!!

If it overheats and blows up the engine you can probably replace it with one from Harbor freight as long as the shaft orientation and taper and size are the same. Chinese small engines are all Honda clones and are mostly interchangeable.
@raaawkstaaar
@raaawkstaaar 2 ай бұрын
one from Harbor Freight wouldn't be much of an upgrade if at all, if I had to replace I'd invest in a Kohler but no more than it's going to be used Bob will probably sell it before it has 25 hours on it!
@michaelporter3555
@michaelporter3555 2 ай бұрын
@@raaawkstaaar I don't think it would be an upgrade just nearly identical to the original. A Kohler would cost substantially more probably more than double. The hydraulic pump, hydraulic cylinders, lines and controls probably won't last much longer than the engine so I don't know if I would spend that much to replace an engine.

When you are sitting on the thing, you will be in a better position and operating the controls will be easier to manipulate smoother without jerking around. I've ran a back hoe. You will get a feel for the controls and will be a lot less jerky.

A plastic water filled weight for balance is a great idea, but... You'll need to figure a way around the Muffler. Maybe an aluminum one would work if you could protect it from too much heat. I don't know much about that kind of stuff, but You Are The Magician with Cars !! :~)

Hey V-BoB-M, very interesting purchase we look forward to seeing you pulling out those roots. You're right though, it definitely doesn't appear to WEIGH phriggin' 2000 lbs. Rest assured, that thing is NO Case or Caterpillar but then again you didn't spend 30 large for their mini bulldozers. The engine is definitely not a Briggs or even a Tecumseh but simply a Chinese knock-off version. In fact, it most likely won't stand the test of time. BTW - it will handle your small jobs but the bottom line is . . . . . you get what you pay for. True That ! Many Thanks Yo ! 🔜. 🚜. 🤔
@raaawkstaaar

a mini "bulldozer" doesn't have a boom w/ a bucket, perhaps you meant "mini track hoe"? Everything else you stated is correct! For $4K delivered to your door sounds like a good deal, not sure I get why he stated he needed a "forklift" to unload...wouldn't you think the truck delivering would have a mini forklift attached to the trailer of said truck? Or even delivered via a roll back type bed where it can be driven off?
