They really outdid themselves with the challenges in this level, the Atlas challenge made me hyperventilate, and the sounds I made yesterday (after not playing for years) in the Damocles challenge every time a sword caught me by surprise and killed me. My brain was so fried when I was finally through it haha

Totally agree! This is the only level so far where I’ve seen a real improvement on the original. Merry Christmas, Suzanne! This level is probably one of the harder ones, at least to me. I liked the scene with Pierre, making him all mysterious, as a nod to his ability to magically disappear after each fight jn the original. Brings the giggles.

I loved how you combined Hephaestus and Theseus into one merged pronunciation 🤣 Hephaestus is more like HefesTus. He ( as in he the pronoun) phaest (as in fest , festivities etc) us (as in how you already said it). I am not one to complain about pronunciations as they can be tricky, I know, but this one was like not just off but a fully made up name that you said at this point , sorry 😅 It was rough. You said it like Hefecious (I don't know if you were thinking of delicious 😅) You did nail all the other pronunciations of the greek names though🥰 (to soften my judgement 🤣) And with this comment I would also like to wish you merry Christmas !! (after judging you for the pronunciation 🤣🤣🤣 sorry)

Merry Christmas! Hope you and your family had a fantastic holiday! I enjoyed this level back when I first played it as well! Nearly every room is recreated/reimagined to be more visually ambitious and challenging without sacrificing/butchering everything. Only thing they left out was the crocodile pool, (and I laughed when you gleefully cheered for its absence!) 😅 I have too much nostalgia for the original to say that I like this remake version better, but if someone said they like TRA's Folly better, I wouldn't disagree with them! Either way, This level is how you do a remake/reimagining the right way! If only certain subsequent levels followed this blueprint...

Every room was nicely upgraded while keeping the feel of the original, but the croc pool I was happy to see the back of 😂😂😂 Yes, while I do think this level is better than the original, overall the original game is still the best. I’ve played the next few levels and unfortunately they do not give the same feeling as St Francis Folly 😔💔

Ooh I agree with you. This is a much better layout! I love how they expanded the challenges and them more, y'know, challenging and with changes to the names as well, nice little detail (although yes, Zeus would have made much more sense, but hey). Even an Indiana Jones reference with the Atlas room! Ah, that was cool. If only the controls weren't riddled with jank. You'd think by 2007 they'd understood how to make good jumping controls. But still, really fun level and really fun to watch you! 😊 now let's see if the rest of the game is decent.

I played the first two Survivor games and, while waiting for the third, I played Anniversary (not understanding that playing Legend first would have given me experience with the controls). Because of that, the South American level was struggle for me, and it wasn't until Saint Frances Folly that I really started to enjoy myself. I must admit, the Damcoles room is my favorite. All the firigging swords in the ceiling dropping down was just so much fun for me. It's just so over the top! Anyway Suzanne, I enjoyed watching you play this morning. Happy Christmas everyone.

About how to do the jumps while grapple wall running - the direction you jump is determined by the direction you move the analog stick relative to the camera - it is not relative to where Lara is facing. ie if the platform you want to jump to is on the left of the screen move the analog stick to the left and and Lara will jump towards the left of the screen regardless of what direction she was looking at the time you press the jump button. Once you know this, with practice it is possible to jump in the direction you intend to reliably - it is just not really explained in game very well.

The absolute irony Suzanne that you don’t like Anniversary that much (whereas I love it) and your favourite level so far is my least favourite level out of this entire game! 😂😭💀 That tower structure is an absolute nightmare mate! I would happily take the Egypt or Lost Island levels than take on St. Francis Folly! The amounts of times I’ve died from jumping to the wrong places and getting lost trying to reach the trap rooms whilst navigating that obsolete tower is unreal! 😂😩💀

I thought of bellybutton as well 😅 The Atlas montage 😂Lara rag dolling was hilarious. Lot of good shorts to be made out of this video. The grapple wall run sucks so bad. It’s why I kinda stopped at the manor for awhile and just played other stuff. Not looking forward to that either. Merry Christmas (early) 🎄 Suzanne. Only thing I’d like to have seen in this level would be the lions at the bottom. Pierre can (as you say) feck off :P but it just feels anticlimactic in comparison.

Well now you explained all the reasons why I love this level and game in general. There are several things that needs to be mentioned here and it will be a bit long, so please bear with me. 1) The symbol you saw at 1:17 is known as Vergina's star or sun and it was the symbol of the Macedonians ( a Greek race). 2) I already mentioned what happened to Medusa in the Croft Manor and here you see her fate. She was beheaded by Perseas, who was the son of the Danae( she was the daughter of the King of Argos, Akrisius) and Zeus, so he was considered a demigod. This is actually a constellation and depicts the scene, where Perseas fled with her head after beheading her. 3) There are some trivia about poseidon and Hepheastus ( for Poseidon there was a competition with the goddess Athena on who would become the Protector of the City of Athens. Poseidon offered to the Athenians his horses, whereas Athena offered an Olive oil tree and since this provided much more utility, it was decided that Athena would be the protector of Athens, thus the name. As for Hepheastus, he created the weapons of the gods and was in a relationship at some point with Afrodite, the goddess of love). 4) the name is pronounced Hefaestus and ends with - stus not - sius ( I know it was a bit difficult to pronounce so I understand you) Congratulations on your wedding and I wish you both, as well as all of the community Merry Christmas.

Damocles was the moment I gave up with Anniversary (and the CD games in general). The original is so, so tense, amazingly effective in its brilliant simplicity, and here they just overcomplicated it into a ridiculous trap room. For me it was the point that I realised CD completely missed the point of what made the Core games great. So everything from here on is new to me, looking forward to seeing all the new stuff! This and the obelisk are my fav levels from TRA but especially St Francis Folly is just pure perfection ❤ Edit: In Hephaestus room in order to not get electrocuted you have to stand on the platforms that lower cause if you stand on the platforms that go up you get hit by lightning 😭
