Hi James, I work as a gardener for the National Trust so I know my way around a lawn mower. To be fair, we tend to use petrol Hayter mowers but we also have a couple of battery powered lawn mowers for our smaller lawns. I would recommend either a Hayter Harrier cordless mower with a roller (pretty pricey though!) Or go for a Honda cordless lawn mower. I couldn't tell you exactly the one we have at work, but I prefer Honda over Hayter for lawn mowers. Honda have a good range to choose from to suit different budgets. With and without rollers too. Happy to answer any questions you might have 😊

i just bigged up Hayter myself their new range of 60V electric cordless mowers look very nice, i grass cut for 10 years for my local council all are ride on's were Hayter triple rollers, for strimmer's tho you cant beat a well run in petrol Stihl imo.

Love your vlogs! We have an automower! Best thing we ever bought! Cuts the grass for you on a timer! Very easy to set up, set the wire down around the perimeter, plug it in and done! Never have to worry about the lawn again. It leaves the grass on the lawn which really helps nourish the grass but isn't clumpy because it just trims it every day or every other day, when ever you set it to cut the grass. Look up the husqvarna automower! Love watching your vlogs, such a fun family ❤️

Hi guys. I'm a gardener too, went battery a few years ago. I use the EGO lawnmower with the rear roller kit. It is pricey but the batterys can also be used for there whole range. It's more than powerful for your garden and I have had no issues with reliability. Any questions let me know. Jim.

I have a Erbauer EXT lawn mower, about £400 in B&Q, does a good job of the gardens and has a powerful motor, had it for about 5 years now and still going strong.

The 'ego' battery powered lawnmowers are great, I've got a garden a little larger than yours and it's perfect for it. The battery charges in 15 minutes to full and has 3/5 year warranties. I bought mine last year and it's a great piece of kit.

DeWalt DCMW564RN with two 9AH batteries, bit pricey but comes with a rear roller, and it’s built like a petrol mower with a metal deck, had one for two years and it hasn’t missed a beat 👌🏻

James up your lawn mowing game and get yourself a Allett liberty battery cylinder mower. Quite pricey for a home garden mower but serious bit of kit plus you’ll have lines for days 👌🏻

I'm a farmer and gardener from Kent with a father who literally collects lawn mowers (primarily Atco lawn mowers from the 90s). I use a Hayter Harrier 48 , which is petrol but it has a roller so leaves the most amazing stripes. I know that Hayter have a line of battery operated rolled mowers now which will be as effective as the petrol ones , there are some good videos of them being tested online, so id definitely go for one of those.

For a guy with a bald head I gave my garden its first cut of the year yesterday and I thought the hard work and meticulous manicure I gave it started making me jealous. I run a Landscape Gardening company based in Leeds. We use professional petrol mowers, these are fine for car dealerships etc.. If I was getting a battery mower for a single private garden, I’d go for a HAYTER HAWK 43 AD cordless rear roller mower. Hayter are one of the best professional brands so should last you years.

I have a Mountfield battery powered lawnmower, no complaints about it as it is for small lawn areas so the battery lasts about 50 minutes. You can get very good ones these days and Mountfield are a very good brand.

I bought the Hayter Hawk a couple of years ago, and it's the best mower I have ever had. You may as well get yourself a Ryobi scarifier while you're at it and a pump sprayer backpack for your monthly wetting agent\seaweed\fertiliser application. 😉

My 11yr old helps cut the grass with our non-cordless (corded?) Flymo. I spend ages warning him to be aware of where the cable is whilst following him around keeping the cable out of the way. He got bored and went inside. I carried on, and immediately went through the cable. So i am watching these comments with interest. Also, please please do a piece on bbq selection. We bought one from Asda during covid and it's had it. Your input would be very useful. Love the vlogs and podcasts. Cheers

James, a keen gardener here unfortunately battery mowers don't come with rollers on them because of the added weight the roller adds to the machine, so your best option is to get an Ego battery powered mower and you can get a separate roller attachment that just clips onto the back of the mower

Regarding cordless mowers, whatever you go for make sure it runs lithium batteries.... batteries are where the costs are in cordless mowers.

EGO lawnmowers, line trimmers, blowers etc are AMAZING, bit more expensive than other brands but they’re like the Tesla of electric tools.. if you get the right trimmer it’ll even self spool the line at the press of a button! Love mine 10/10

Great vlog guys. Guys just a quick one I noticed some of the green on your fencing. I used to jet wash my fence / patio twice a year, I now use Spear and Jackson’s Spray and Leave it’s amazing and only takes about 1 hours to do the lot if you use a Spray Bottle - give it a week or 2 and the results are amazing.

Hi James, maybe too late, but I would suggest the Mcgregor 37cm with roller. Got one few months ago. Had a few previously, flymo etc. The mcgregor is great. Battery charges in 1 hour. £225 available at Argos. This is not a paid advert!😂

Egopower lawnmower. I’ve had one for 2 years it’s great and you get a roller to put on the back if you want (I have that too and a strimmer that uses the same battery) highly recommended.

Ah now I’m a bit of an expert on battery lawn mowing my mate , they call me “ Finn the battery lawn mower king “ down the pub . Now I recommend the new Ford Fly mo XXRTS Turbo , it runs off 12 50v Tesla batteries, 600v , 900 amps . It’s not for everyone I’ll give ya that , I’ve lost 3 toes and 4 fingers BUT it gives a lovely finish on the lawn .

I've got the Makita DLM382Z 36v cordless lawnmower just plug in two 18v batteries it's very good had it few years best one I've had yet and I've had quite a few lawn mowers over the years

James take a look at these three mowers all three are great Swardman Cobra Fortis Allett Interesting fscts are these have interchangeable cartridges also meaning you can cur scarify and aerate as well. The allett being The granddaddy of them all.

We have a battery lawnmower thinking it would be more practical, less faff, but how wrong were we. Bought it from B&Q and the brand name begins with the letter (K). It can't cope with long grass, as the extra strain overworks the battery and have to charge it two to three times to simply do one back garden. Worst lawnmower we've ever had....wished we just bought a petrol version!

The Makita cordless mowers are great you can get different versions but you have to get some batteries and a charger it can cost a few quid for the set up. Also love the vlogs and the podcasts
