here's the context behind this au;
in this au, bakugou and kirishima attended the same middle school and became good friends, and kirishima caught feelings eventually. on the last day of middle school kirishima decided to confess to bakugou because he had procrastinated until then. bakugou was unsure of his emotions, so he left kirishima confused by walking away from him instead of reciprocating or denying the confession. later, they both ended up going to UA, and they became good friends again, neither one of them ever mentioning what happened on that last day. until, one day, bakugou discovered he DID fall for kirishima, and confessed. kirishima told bakugou that he needed some time to think, because he hadn't really thought of loving anyone, let alone bakugou, after what occurred.
kirishima was never able to tell bakugou that he loved him back before he was severely injured during a villain attack, leaving him now in a coma due to heavy blood loss, and leaving his words.. unspoken (;
