Marz's biggest problem with Nero was trying to play him like Dante. The moment she realized all she needed to do was turn her brain off and mash triangle was hilarious.

@@bladerah I think she was half panicking because Vergil had been kicking for her ass for awhile and she had to fight him again, and half upset since she just doesn't like/understand how to play Nero (which is understandable, it'd be hard for a newcomer like her to go from playing Dante for 4 missions straight at the end of the game to playing Nero for the final boss battle). She tends to really drop the ball and forget basic concepts and what buttons even do when she's panicking/mad.

I always loved how at 1:31:07 Vergil literally tries to slice Dante in half again and Dante just knows and dodges it casually and aint't even mad about it, it's just routine at this point haha. Easy to miss but such a fun little detail!

At that point they can read each other moves naturally. Dante knew what he would do and Vergil knew Dante would dodge. He was not trying to slice Dante. He was just doing his attacks knowing that Dante wouldn't be in the way because they were perfectly synchronized.

Fun fact: the book is actually just full of stories and poems from poet and artist William Blake but because Vergil and Dante fought over possessions of things as kids he had to put his name on it which is why it has the V on the cover of it and it was something Vergil cherished in his childhood which is why he held it so close.

Yeah, that last mission, Nero's attacks are basically supposed to be able to blitz right through Vergil like he's nothing. However, spamming grab both does no real damage and doesn't stagger him so I don't think you noticed.

Best part about Vergil is that beating him the first time is best chance you get in the entire game. if you can't beat him the first time he learns how you play and that's why the fight always gets harder

@@igorcheglakov333 yea he has three basic sequences: passive, defensive and aggressive and switches to these sequences depending the history of your previous tries. That's why sometimes if you do stinger straight away he counters it with helm breaker but others he just blocks or evades it. He switches to aggressive when you use royal guard and trickster too much and defensive when you just spam out attacks. Btw I say defensive but I mean he block and dodges everything and does hard counters. Passive is the ideal sequence since it let's you get in hits as well as gives leeway in guard and dodging. Vergil only goes passive in the first time you fight him or if you are already doing excellent game play on him. Even if you beat him he just uses the last most effective sequence so the first fight is always the easiest

You hated playing Nero so much, you forgot that circle only grabs enemies. You just need to remember that the sword is the real damage. Circle is just the arm (special attacks in general, like Dante's style moves), square is just the gun (including V's Griffon, who does the shooting). Screw exceed if you can't master it. I never used it. And Vergil was far easier than Urizen, since I had to use Dante's homing swords the whole time, running in a circle.

Oh yeah about that, you can’t use Nero’s arm attack when the boss is still strong, you have to make them weak enough to get them into exhausted state, only that time you can use the arm attack Nero is very strong actually, sorry for saying this it’s all about skill issue I still surprise that you rarely use Streak (skill of Red Queen) and Stinger (skill of Devil Sword Dante), both of these skill are fast approach attack, it basically dash forward and attack the enemy

Nero is Vergil's bane, Yamato answers to the both of them it's why Nero able to disarm Vergil. Nero's powers are similar to Vergil's too which is why he can one-hit Vergil's dobbelganger. Playing Nero is literally easy mode. Easy combos, easy damage even without Exceed. Also I strongly believe Dante and Vergil cannot kill each other, like demons can't kill each other but they don't know that. PS: The book is not a diary, it's a poetry book :p Vergil has a love for poetry and that is part of his humanity.

I actually really enjoyed this playthrough of yours, I think the first one of yours for me. Hope I can find other old playthroughs you've done. The fact that you genuinely seemed to enjoy the game made it watchable most of all, I think. Not that you should care, just sayn.

Vergil can be one of the harshest bosses in recent years, but oh, he is so cool. It is the matter of timing and remembering what you can do. The fact that Nero gets his DMC4 powers back for the final boss? Priceless. Fun fact, there are numerous ways to buster him: the standard, circle&charge, doppelganger dismiss and double buster.

You say you like Dante but it took you like 17 rounds to defeat Vergil if it wasn't for that gold orb you would probably be doing 50 rounds and still not win agains't him. U need to start using Dante's Royal Guard and start playing better with him and don't say Nero is bad when you aren't even doing much better with Dante. The only thing you do with Dante is spamming sting and staying in Trickster style...

Yeah i just finished my vergil playthrough it's much harder than vice versa with Dante you have so many ways to fight vergil but with Vergil that's all those styles your up against especially royal guard
