Maybe he needs to summon a second him. The game is as hard as you make it. Idk why he’s so stubborn, as they are meant to be used with bosses. The bosses get a buff when you summon so it’s only some help. I beat Lion 4th try and Rellana second try with my Dex/Faith build. Good fcking riddance tbh, the fact that so much of the skill in this game is reliant on i-framing the boss moves via a roll is overrated. It even looks stupid at times, like a big boss's weapon passes through you but you just roll through it. Witcher 2 was employed spam roll tactics (minus the i-frames tho) and its combat was criticized heavily for it for how stupid and even immersion breaking it looked. Now, ofc it looks great at times and is still needed, but the more dmg avoiding alternatives to rolling the better I say.

Also, Sekiro, while a tough game, has no stamina bar & you move a lot faster, so plays out differently in some key ways.

Every boss sucks, every boss is "too aggressive" even when they regularly disengage and give you 10 seconds to heal, they all have too much HP, they all do too much damage, all the camera angles are bad blah blah blah. About Bayle: =========== Think of this as Monster Hunter. You need to adapt the gear for the situation. You were switching gear all the time in MH to fit the current situation. That applied in ER too to some degree and to SotE in a much bigger degree. You switched to Fingerprint and Halberd because the previous gear did not work. Now same thing. This monster has slow attacks and relatively long pauses between attacks with plenty of time to heal or adjust something. Drop the turtle build and switch to something where you can move quickly and punish quickly, like dual great katanas or something. You do not need to turtle a slow monster with long pauses to heal. Become quick so you can get in close and do damage and then move out. Bayles attacks are too strong to facetank even with Fingerprint, but they are slow and well telegraphed. You do not need to facetank with a shield. Adapt your gear to the monster you are fighting. Just like in MH.

The great katana you picked up on the way to the Jagged Peak has a weapon art that kicks ass against dragons. You might want to give it a try if you decide to continue playing. I am not an elite player and I just managed to finish the DLC....don't give up fella...you can do this. Good luck!

Builds have pros and cons, wall build is obviously dragging a fight out and making it simpler, as not dodging is less punishing - but it's a valid tactic? I still find it better than summoning, as the boss is still actually fighting you.

I think it bothers some people because he complains about the mechanics of the bosses while not using the built in mechanics of the game to deal with the boss mechanics. The game gives the players everything they need to beat it, but Asmon's play style is just focused around maybe just a few of things, and because he is so tunnel visioned on only using what he's familiar with he just ends up missing a lot of the game. And I guess this is what ticks people off.
