Fascinating that different generations have very different memories of this song. I experienced this one much more closely related to Smash Mouth and Shrek, rather than with The Monkees.

Those high tenor notes at the end made me wince in sympathy. I remember back in my choral days, sometimes the high notes that weren't too hard working on the sections in rehearsal, could be harder to hit in actual performance. And you landed all of the ones here without breaking a sweat. 👍

Great job, Jared! Great music is timeless, isn't it? Boomers and GenX know it from The Monkees, Millenials and GenZ know it from Smashmouth and Shrek. Still popular today. Saw Smashmouth last year and the whole place was dancing when they did this number: everyone from 5 to 75 was bouncing around and singing along.
