(I myself am pretty new at playing btw) If you want to try strum patterns practice strumming with some simple chords or even no chords. A play along usually has a "chords you'll need" and that's a good spot to practice. Pause the video and practice the chords with a strum pattern. (saying down down-up in your head is helpful) Slowly play the video (change in playback speed) and put it at a faster speed as you go. Honestly if you nail one strum pattern that will be helpful and enough to show off. Personally I learnt D DU U DU and it shows up in a lot of play alongs.

Hi, you can try playing your bass along with these play alongs. If it says G chord for uke, you just play G on your bass and so on. Hope that makes sense but I do explain more in the bass lessons.
