first off let me start by saying I think you are adorable..I am from the reborn community and we always get a bad rap because people don't understand this hobby or the dolls..they say we are a bunch of crazy woman who play with these creepy life like objects..but we are anything but..we are very misunderstood..most people use the dolls as kind of therapy for all kinds of reasons some women cant have babies or lost a baby..some just basically love the art work.we try to explain but we still get ridiculed...so on behalf of our community I would like to say thank you ..

I've had a total of 13 reborns. I ADORE them! They are very therapeutic and healing, not to mention pretty cute. I get how they can be kinda creepy but this video made me so happy because you have such a positive outlook. I love that you didn't instantly turn them down when you found them & you were polite about the community and dolls. wish there was more people out there like you that would give reborns a try. :-)

I love how you have expressed your feelings for this doll - you have said what many people feel but without a hint of disrespect for the people who love them and roleplay with them. I have my first one on order at the moment and am extremely excited to get it mainly because I find it amazing that people can make something so realistic but have never seen one in real life (and I am a mum to 3 girls so I have seen a lot of dolls y'all!). I love reborn dolls, Although i am the odd one out in the reborn community. To me reborns are dolls. I don't role play etc. My reborns sit on the shelf. I change their clothes for the season. I take pictures and videos and thats about it.

He is gorgeous.it took me a min to get use to my Reborn being so real but I love them now I dress them and take pics I have a nursery set up in my bed room for them.my daughter and I love watching videos and looking at all the different reborns.being a reborn mommy is fun and it comes with a community of friends and family 😊 love your video your reaction was priceless

Hi, it was so nice to watch, I found it sweet to see a man which loves dolls. And I can understand you had problerms with that baby, it is not so much a doll than others, so it might not hit your taste as a girl with long hair which you can comb, for example. Anyway, i am sad you are so far away, it would be so nice to have somebody like you to share the fun with dolls. I am sorry to read you had such a loss. I will remember your friend. And I hope, you will learn to love your baby doll, if it brings so many memories, you both will be a great team. I have collected dolls for 49 years, I currently have nine, most of them modern bisque dolls. I used to have several period and reproduction China heads but they were lost when we became homeless. I've only started seeing these baby dolls recently myself. I think it would look so cool to display one in an antique rocking cradle beside an old fashioned hearth. But I don't have the doll, the cradle, or even the hearth for that matter. But it WOULD look wonderful, especially with the doll wearing one of those antique long white christening dresses and matching bonnet, and laying on a hand crocheted baby blanket. Maybe you could display yours in some creative way like that. You don't have to play with a doll to enjoy it.

Reborns certainly aren't for everyone, but, as a doll collector, I think at least one reborn is great to have in your collection. I'm a reborn doll artist, but my reborns are character babies (movies, books, etc.) .

Don't feel the pressure to role play if you don't want to :) I have been in the community (and I say that loosely) for about 4 years and I've been making them for 3 years. And I've never been into the roleplay. I just find it a little weird...because to me they are more like a painting than a real baby. I'll change them every once in a while and I do like taking them out and letting people see that it's a doll but pretending they're real? Not for me.

The big step was getting your first reborn the next is enjoying him. I sense that you and your baby boy will get along great. Start by giving him a name and I assure you that you will begin to bond with your little guy which will in turn make it difficult for you to sell him. Me and my girl are getting one next year. Im excited myself. She is getting a Denver Rose. We lost our child 6 month's ago and seeing her happy again about something is half the excitement. I think Austin is adorable. I am the "mother" of an Adora Doll Toddler named Rylie Rose and a Berenguer La Newborn Preemie named Milea. Although they are not Reborns, it's nice to know the Reborn community has embraced me into the fold. I am in my 50s and I guess life passed me by, so I never got to be a real mother. But I have found contentment with these dolls and I'm enjoying my retirement life as well. You'd make a great Reborn "Dad" for little Austin!

Hi, I loved this video. Your reaction was priceless! I used to have a couple of reborn dolls as well. One was an amazing toddler that I just recently sold. The doll's artist had actually won an award for her, making it really difficult to part with her. But like you, it just wasn't for me. Although the doll was gorgeous, and it was clear to see that the artist put so much love, care and talent into her, I somehow lost my desire for having reborns. I, too, watch the reborn doll community videos, and I still enjoy them very much (especially Laura's -- so sad about her passing). But my thing was I had wanted to take photographs and use the doll for artistic purposes, rather than role playing. That didn't quite work out, so I sold her. Your little guy there is very cute. If you really are not into it, keep trying on eBay. It took me a few tries before I was able to sell the toddler. Reborns are fascinating, but I guess some of us just aren't cut out to be reborn mommies and daddies. I'm sticking with my rocking American Girl dolls for now. :-)

Adorable reborn. Very cute. I'm a 40 year old childless woman and these dolls fascinate me and creep me out in equal measure. I just don't know. I love Bjd's and my retro Blythes but Reborns.....And the Silicon ones are even more realistic, and cute!!! You can fully bathe them, give them a bottle and they WILL wet a nappy. Some have breathing motion in them etc etc. I wonder what THE MOST REALISTIC Reborn made EVER looks like and who it's made by?

I went for a gorilla. Recently just got her. I bonded with mine immediately but I find the "roleplay" part outside of setting stuff up for photos a bit much. What did you do with him. It seems reselling the dolls is much harder than buying them from the creator. I dont think I'll become a collector but I do like the one I have.

I personally like full body silicones the best due to the realness of them. But I have always collected dolls never grew out of it lol some of my family thinks its creepie and others thinks its neat. I got my first one yesterday. She is a sleeping one, and she tricked many people at Ross and Target today. I love her so much, but the open eyed ones kinda creep me out, unless its a toddler.

I'm two years behind lol anyways I had a few reborn babies that were really nice but I just didn't bond with them. For me it's the cloth body. I just don't bond with the dolls that have cloth bodies. I like the full vinyl ones. After three cloth body ones I got a full vinyl one and it made a big difference.
