Today I met a Response Team Supervisor in Emerson Green who was initially suspicious of me with a camera. However at the conclusion, I felt that I had reassurred her that Photography is not a Crime!

What a disgusting person. The accusative invocation "I take it you're not filming over at the nursery". Attempting to associate lawful photography with something perverted. She needs to watch her mouth around the public. Totally unacceptable.

She tries her best to get information and tries the usual intimidating tactics such as you might be a security risk and then tries to bring up the filming of a nursery just to get you to admit wrongdoing. Did she identify herself with name and collar number and she should follow force policy of informing you immediately her body worn camera was recording. When you said you were going to fly your drone she stupidly asked have you got a drone with you - My reply would have been "What Do You Think". I am surprised she didn't try to pursue the Operator ID and size of drone questions. No doubt hasn't got a clue about drone rules and will now be on Google looking at the CAA regulations.

She’s forgotten the basic rules of policing. REASONABLE SUSPICION and that means something that any person would reasonable believe gives cause to suspect a crime is being committed. A man with a camera in the open taking pictures doesn’t fall into that category.

There is a very simple methodolgy here from the Police it is 'What threat level do you present to us' and from yourself it is 'I can fully legally video from Public Land' and once that understanding is accepted by both sides everything will run smoothly.

Please carry a copy of the NPCC guidance on public photography with you it pisses them off no end. While your at it also carry copies of PACE 1, sections 4, 4A and 5 public order, Sec 26 and 33 C&CJA, Sec 50 Police Reform Act but DO NOT carry any form of identification. Should you ever be arrested for a section 50 it's a non recordable offence and they have to release you after 48 hours and they still won't have your ID.

Personal, private, sensitive and confidential information should not be left on display ANYWHERE even if it is in a locked compound as nobody except personnel who requires that information for their official duty should be able to view it.
