So sam, there are these things called gears. The higher the gear, the faster you go. You were going slow because you were in 1st gear, AKA the slowest gear.

Sam! When you were going slower it was because you didn't shift gears and Left Bumper is to shift not to give you a boost. The little number shows what gear your in.
