Wow.... Crazy that I decided to play this game again LAST NIGHT and then you put out a video.

Noice! 👍tip i learned when doing a resource challenge is using only mining lasers instead of weapons dismantles ships therefore giving maximum resources, shooting them blows up nuclear cells and processors etc. shields and armor up front and mining lasers protected behind makes for some super strong early game builds.

take note that fame works toward crew size limits. the higher your fame, the more crew you can acquire. I see that running a couple of ships works well with one focused on combat and a larger one dedicated to salvage recovery and processing.

I like to start the early game by buying plans for a mining laser and hyper drive, then replacing the starting ship with one that is basically 6 big storage bays, a mining laser and the hyperdrive. The ship only goes maybe 5m/s so it can only fire up the hyperactive to fet away from early enemies. The ship also starts 20k in debt, so it's fun to be an asteroid miner and get that thrill of danger knowing that any little red dot can dust you.

You'll save yourself a lot in combat if you actually control your ship. If you just click to attack an enemy the ship AI just gets in real close. The energy weapons have great range, especially over ballistic weapons. So, be sure you actually tell your ship to keep enemies *just* inside your weapons's range. Edit: 36:28 Clicking multiple times like that isn't going to make the enemy ship magically disappear, lol. You just click to target a block, and pray your weapons can get it in time. Cosmoteer is truly built mainly around combat, so you can't just fully forego combat. Especially considering how the AI works. If you detect an AI with your radar (Dedault starting radar range), 9/10 times they'll come right for you because they detected you, too. The only exception to this is the pirate bases. You can detect them, but those 3-5 ships that usually hang around them will generally stay around it unless you get too close. It'll also do you some good to download some QoL mods like Megaroids. Makes it easier to be a miner when you can find asteroids that are actually big and valuable, rather than pea sized scraps that spawn by default. You'll also do great by building a Sundiver and grabbing asteroids from there. Been playing Cosmoteer since the very early stages, it's been fun watching it grow, and I hope they continue to improve it. They listen well to their community. Factions and the "who likes you, who hates you" system (Mind fart, can't think of the word for it) really could use an overhaul. I think they're working on something like that currently, and a rework to the galaxy as well

Could you make one of these into a series? also if you place factories next to each other they give a stackable 25% bonus in production speed
