@HeyJayOfficial yes the GU series! I bought the game around half a year ago and dumped like 1000h into the game, and I am still not using every weapon, lol. I will never forget the confusion i felt and how overwhelmed I was early on with all the styles,weapon arts and what not so it's very entertaining to see others struggle a bit too. I think I'll boot up the game rn ^~^

Good to find a good Attack talisman: my preferred "Starting in G Rank" set is Full Ceanataur X (be prepared to crab), which gives Razor Sharp and Critical Eye +3 (the max one) - I used a talisman and gems to slot in Attack Up L, and it works as an all-purpose no-thoughts basic set. It does work very well with weapons that have natural "full sharpness", and my current go-to weapon is the El Dora Insect Glaive (gotten from Rare Coast Meownster Hunters) - all of the El Dora blademaster equipment has somewhat low attack and low Sharpness at first, but when maxed out it has enormous white (at HR) and purple (at GR) sharpness. (The bowguns for the sets both focus on Crag Shot and such, which is not bad, but there are of course better shot types to focus on) The Nargacuga IG is also a great fit, especially since it has the naturally high affinity as well (absolutely make the bug that unlocks at level 6, which is either Elscarad or Arginesse depending on if it's a cutting or bludgeoning bug)

Watched this video twice as I really enjoyed it. Great job. Might I suggest that chat votes for a mechanic you have to focus on improving while wielding a weapon (critical distance for the pewpews as an example) on a particular hunt in which you try to upgrade your grade that way? Also inviting guests considered iconic for a specific weapon on a hunt might be a nice experience for everyone 😊. Cheers, keep it classy!

the way you described learning longsword makes me believe you would have gotten the hang of the bread and butter combo earlier, if you played Freedom 2/Unite, since that's the only thing you can do in those games, and then unleash the spirit combo. rinse and repeat lol

Fun fact, the Mizutsune you fight are always male. Female Mizutsune are brown in color and much more docile! The males do all of the fighting.

Once you unlock the R series sets the armor building will be much better. I mean the hunts are harder too but the stuff you can make are way better. I don't remember all the quests you need to do, but I know one of them is triple toady terror.

HBB valor it's little hard to get use to, but when clicks... Dood, will be one of the best exp you will have with this weapon in all séries. Play MH with all weapons is time consuming, struggle and a endless pool of fun!! Bring more!

If you struggle with ore again once you hit MR, just know that it's not just the locale that matters, but also the zone. I don't know if you're looking up the ore locations already, but if you aren't I recommend you do for next time.

I want to see Jay try the quest Tragedy in Silver and Gold without using the gate. The base Generations version of that hunt was probably the hardest quest ib the game. Also, Jay's coming up on the nonsense that is Valor NBG. Have fun vomiting DPS on everything.

I hope you wont just outright skip 10 star village because theres some interesting stuff in there. This rank has its own key quests and a set of really interesting urgent quests once you do those. The only catch is that you need to reach HR9 (basically unlock g rank) to do those quests, so make sure to come back to them when you get there!

So about bloodbath requirements, from my experience you need to beat the g rank deviants to unlock it (every single one that gets unlocked in g rank must be beaten) the hunter rank requirement isn't a thing

dont use the suppressor, slicing is bad outside of getting valor mode, and pierce 1 doesnt need recoil reduction

Love the shout out but i do have BIG piece of advice, pierce lvl 3 and 2 are worse than pierce lvl 1 in gu. Pierce lvl 1 has more dmg per tick while pierce lvl 2 and 3 have more ticks and since you are not fully hitting the monster with 5 ticks rather just 2-3 pierce 1 is significantly better. Plus the bowgun you are using, the nargacuga bowgun, rapid fire pierce lvl1 so you should be shooting that instead. Rapid fire on lbg is just free dmg so you shoild always look into it. Usually to keep up with hunt you bring crafts for the ammo which is by design from the devs. Also i do suggest striker lbg if you wanna use full house III with 2 absolutes its really fun and it also just as good as adept you should try it.

Don't worry about not doing enough dps when you're solo against hub G-rank monsters. The issue is actually staying alive. I can kill monsters in 5-15 minutes with my khezu dual blades, but they down me in 2 hits.

I know it might seem discouraging doing 30 mins online solo hunts but it forces you to get better and you’ll see how that time goes down. 10 mins is achievable without optimized sets and weapons vs most monsters by just playing good and focused .

If I could add my two cents regarding your question at the end of the video, I would say you should of course continue to use multiplayer for grinding but also use it for hyper monsters and a certain siege monster that will be required as an urgent quest. Some hyper monsters have ridiculous hp bloating and really aren't worth doing solo for stream content and time sake, it will be torture fighting them solo. You should be okay with the deviants once you get comfortable with your weapons and armor, but trust your gut with how you might want to approach them
