While yes it is a hate boner, it is from past experience with hoyoverse, I can’t really fault anyone for assuming it will be like their other games they’ve released.

@@Glxrp Tbf, with the trajectory of their newer games, do people really expect that they would regress back to their old ways? Take HSR as an example. People love to dunk on GI now because of how generous, accessible, and great the game is that it's even being memed as Hoyo's "favorite child"... "Genshin could never", right? However, Hoyo's inability to retroactively address some of the community's issues and criticisms with GI is still a mystery to me 😂 Other people just hate for the sake of hating, even if the company is slowly learning over the years. I have a ton of respect for Hoyo because staying relevant in a gacha market that's super saturated is not an easy task.

On the combat, Most people in the beta never got to endgame. Especially most of the streamers. But I've heard from the few people who did no life the game and got to the proper endgame, the game does become pretty damn difficult. No whether that is because of harder enemy movesets or just enemy stat creep Idk. Plus I don't think any mihoyo game launched with any particularly challenging boss. HI3 only had like the gold AE mech with the front shield, and Parvati, the boss that just spindashes away from you the whole time. Which are both just more annoying than challenging. Genshin released with Devalin and the cubes. Both of which aren't anything too special. Star rail did have some decent bosses at launch like Svarog, but it also had cocolia, which while amazing cinematically, nothing really happens mechanically during that fight. The later bosses in all of those games are all much better in the mechanics department. So even if the launch bosses have mediocre movesets and sit around a bit too much. I can garuntee that the bosses that come out in 1.5+ are probably going to be pretty challenging and fun to fight. It just might take some time. Also I don't mind the amount of questionable age characters for one reason in particular. Over the years I've noticed a trend between the amount of fanservice with questionable age characters and drama in the community. Azur lane, fate grand order, blue archive, girls Frontline, all have lots of very questionable age characters (or even every character, except like 2, being explicitly underage in the case of blue archive.) But they have next to no drama whatsoever about their character design. Whereas a lot of games that don't have nearly as many of those types of characters, tend to have much more drama on the few characters that they do have. Could be unrelated since most of those games are smaller scale and came out before the genshin boom, but it does seem to correlate imo. Waiting for azur promilia, the genshin/wuwa competitor from the azur lane devs to see if that theory holds up or not.

Looking through the ZZZ discord and reddit 0 people have any idea how endgame will work. If this game has HI3 difficult then we'll be fine. It won't be hard. Hoyo isn't known for that.

ZZZ on twitter already posted a tweet of all the claimable pulls and boopons you can get from mail and in-game events (not from the actual patch events). The total estimation for the whole 1.0 patch should be around 300 (with boopons), give or take

I'm pretty mixed on the whole "skip button" argument. On one hand, I'm a pretty traditional RPG gamer... going as far back as the Nintendo Family Computer console, I have always enjoyed reading through the story dialogue for the plot... and back then, all these fancy animations and cinematics didn't exist. All we had were walls of text to read through. Considering English isn't my first language, that was my primary source of learning reading and comprehension (I did not have the attention span of learning it in school). So, as my personal preference, I don't skip dialogue in video games, especially if it's a first playthrough. On the other hand, this isn't your traditional ARPG video game... this is, first and foremost, a live service gacha game. Meaning some people don't even play these games for the immersion... specifically for those casual players who just enjoy either the action/combat, the different game modes and gameplay loop, or that dopamine hit of pulling for different characters in the gacha system. So for that subset of people in the player base, the "skip" feature makes total sense.

@@Maddiechoo Fair. But the thing is that it's not even "forcing" people when that was supposed to be the norm. I don't really have issues with adding the skip button or not as I don't really care either way (as you mentioned, even if it's there I can choose not to use it). It's just the stigma of "no skip function = bad game design" that rubs me the wrong way. That's just my opinion, anyway.

@@statixfear no story is good enough to not have a skip button, sometimes there’s just a boring part of a side quest and people might skip that not the whole thing. Even anime you can double speed through/skip parts of an episode/or skip entire episodes if they’re boring or filler

@@Maddiechoo While I agree that not all stories are good, how would one know if it's good or bad if it's still your first playthrough? So unless you've read or seen spoilers from others, who've played before you, there's no way for you to tell if it is indeed a "bad story" unless you fully experience the whole thing. And for the dev team's part, it just feels bad that certain things they poured a lot of love and care into can just be skipped because of the perception of being bad. It's no surprise that most other gacha games don't even bother putting effort into the quests, plot, or world building. And the sad reality is that we're seeing these features of "convenience" starting to bleed into even single player non-gacha games. Things like skip, 2x speed, and auto-play functionality. It's not necessarily a bad thing, mind you. It's more of just an evolution of gaming and the type of players that are being catered to.

Has a lot less to do with some one said this is bad so I’ll skip, and more to do with these characters are talking to much and it’s not interesting to the point I’m barely paying attention so I’ll skip this dialogue and pay attention again when it’s interesting

Why they don't but skip button in every game Because hi3&zzz can replay the main chapter story so they give you skip button But genshin as a open world When you do something in the main chapter, you'll change the map or something after Finnish the story And You can't return it Just like in the true world we can't turn back time

I like the style, the music and the vibe. But when they say its combat focused and the combat is basically button mashing against target dummies then that to me is a turn off. It looks flashy and fun but when the enemies barely engage, I'll lose interest in a week. I was hyped about it around CBT1, what a waste of potential.
