Right? I know it's not perfect (no game is, Red/Blue/Yellow are far buggier and much more loved, I know technology advances but technology is still technology, and they do have the option to make updates) but, I personally think the graphics look beautiful (there's just a few glitchy animations ) and I absolutely loved many characters, the immersion feel, and the new Pokemon. Sure, it's sad to see Pokemon cut, but at the same time, 400 is...a lot of Pokemon. Really it was bound to happen sooner or later. Completing a dex of around 1,000 sounds hard for the casual gamer. I had a lot of fun with the game. While I miss some Pokemon in this game, it's not like I can have Galar Pokemon in other games. I got rather attached to Zacian, my Yamper (now Boltund), and more. Also, dark type gym leader.....Piers is awesome. As someone who likes metal, that gym was a lot of fun.

I'm not trying to be negative about you loving the game, all the power to you, I just feel like the positives are the just in the fact that it's "Pokemon". I've played pokemon since I was 7 and have played every game before diamond (my first game) to after. The love, the trading, the cool/cute "animals" are all in the fact that it is pokemon. It just feels like they've done the bare minimum to make the game truly spectacular when they have a better system and a home console at their disposal. Little content, not innovation, no change. It's a game that's on the best system Nintendo has and it is somehow less memorable or replayable than the earlier games from before BW2.

Lunar Rhythm Masuda method Ive gotten three shinies in the past few days an snagging a foreign mon isnt to hard. I did the exact same thing as you with Zigzagoon gave up because I was 50 hours into the game and was like yeah naw. Got a dreepy in 175, a Feebas in 200, a Milcery which suprised me at like 10. Its so much better than the stupid Genocide method. Which I have gotten a shiny from, Rookidee at 759.

Yeah i actually have a JPN ditto that i got day 2 with a neat sequence where someone on Reddit gave me pokerus. Then someone in JPN from FB gave me two dittos and i was able to give one to original pokerus guy. Anyway i just feel like I'm in too deep to move forward. Have you found an explanation for your online issues yet. I think I have the same problems...at least I get no one joining me for raids, but I also get almost no one able to link trade me as well. So I found details on my issue. I was using my phone's hotspot. While it worked fine for 3ds, the switch games only partly worked. When testing the connection, my phone provider assigned the hotspot a type D NAT Type. Only A and B NAT types work, When I moved to a router hotspot, the NAT Type changed to A or B. At that point raids, link trades, etc worked quickly.

I haven’t completely finished the story yet, but I kind of like how the older trainers are trying to actually take care of things themselves so the new 10-year-old trainers can have as much fun on their journey as possible, rather than asking for your help with stuff all the time. Oh, idunno, maybe the godamn whole introduction of the game and following cutscenes about the Gym Challenge and Champion Leon extending his invitation for trainers to challenge him? Like every cutscene with other gym challengers and gym leaders with their own goals for once? The hidden history of Galar, the origin of the Darkest Day and Dynamax? The continuation of the story as to how the history was hidden? Would you really consider it a change of thought? We all have games we are endeared to. One of my favorite games, I personally rate a 5/10, but I still love it. Trading is good because if you get a trade with a player who’s playing the opposite game type then you ( sword and shield ) you can get Pokemon that are exclusive to them, there’s about 30-40 for each one and two of the gyms are different in the games

However all of a sudden I've noticed more andm ore people joining. Lately I've gotten all 3 people three times so far during total gameplay which is a big milestone compared to what it was. I've also seen new smarter online features pop-up for an uber brief time that simplified things leading me to believe they are indeed working on it. One time I even saw a message when trying to join a raid, "This raid has already closed, let's go ahead and refresh your stamps" which was a lifesaver although it seems they removed it the next day so, oh well lol. But I feel like things are very, very, slowly improving and that they are working on some of hte online issues.

@@zachangell3021 feed them curry to max friendship and if it's overcast/ thunderstorms in wild area then it probably counts as night, I'm not 100% sure about the night features but I maxed my team's friendship this way by feeding curry to level guys up with exp and reviving my pokemon and fully healing their status effects this way

The game is a disapointment. I am worried about Animal Crossing not having the cloud saves. People are going to dump hundreds of hours into the game without a backup. Terrible if all that data got lost.

The reason why so many reviewers are making so many negative comments about Pokémon Sword and Shield but then end up giving them 8-9 out of 10 scores is because. Pokémon Sword and Shield, as a standered Pokémon game, as a going through the motions Pokèmon game. Is an outstanding Pokémon game. Up there as one of the best. But despite that it's not what was promised and it's not the best generation to show what a Pokémon game on the switch can really do. Reviewed as simply just a Pokémon game, it deserves its 8-9 out of 10 rating. But GameFreak need to do better next time at giving us a true next generation experience, either that or let a company who can provide that have the rights to Pokémon. Because with the games I've played and seen on the switch, there is no reason why sword and shield couldn't have been a true next gen Pokémon game.
