My only question would be how to make this butter stand against hot weather. Being this a product that is carried by women everywhere in their purse or sometimes left in the car at high temperatures.

Marie!! I just recently made a lip balm with Lanolin. I love it! I used coconut oil, cocoa butter, lanolin, bees wax and a vanilla flavor oil. The Lanolin gives the balm staying power. I live in South Dakota...harsh winters. I wanted something that would give a bit more protection. Great stuff!! 😊

I'm surprised, I didn't know people used lanolin in things on purpose. A lot of brands advertise as being lanolin-free because they consider it a harmful ingredient.

@@Liquorice_Monster You're right but that's predominantly hair care products. Stuff like pomades sometimes use lanolin because it has that nice smooth texture but lanolin will fuck your hair up.

This looks like a great winter weather balm. I have never played with liquid soy lecithin. I will need to explore that ingredient on your encyclopedia. Maybe I'll adapt this recipe to make a beard or body balm.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your knowledge and recipes, I very much enjoy watching your videos and trying your recipes. I recently made this recipe and at first it felt really good. The one thing that I, and my family, didn't like is that there is something that sits on top of the lips all day. I apply in the morning and by late afternoon there's still something sitting on top of my lips. Is that the lanolin? the wax? the lecithin? YAY MARIE! I already have the lanolin and the soy lecithin from when I bought them to make your Lip Mask, which was super effective. I found that the lanolin smell is an acquired taste :D some of my friends hated it, but it really grew on me, so I think I'm going to try this one with the sheep-smelling lanolin too :D

I like lanolin with lavender. Makes the lanolin smell like lavender honey. Unfortunately my new batch is refined because I doesn't smell like sheep :( I must admit that I like sniffing wool scarfs.

Quick question: I bought beeswax beads from Ebay, but when they arrived the seller had packed them loose in the mailbag (thanks mate!)Not only did a few of them fall on the floor, but now I'm questioning their sterility, and wondering if they will be ok melted straight in to my lipbalm? I can't think of a way to sanitize them that won't melt or change them in some undesirable way. I was also wondering if beeswax in this form can generally be added directly to products? Ahh nooo, what a bummer :( I also wouldn't feel super comfortable putting that beeswax in skincare. You might save it for candles or wood polish and order some fresh beeswax from a reputable supplier. I've linked to lots that I love here: www.humblebeeandme.com/resources/

I have made this Christmas some lip balms for the giveaway and had some left when I checked yesterday I found something weird on top of the surface, some small granules and kinda looks like fungus but it is not. Yes vitamin E works as antioxidant in oily based formulations What happened with you is from the butters itself due to over heating or quickly cooling I guess

You could, but it's a very light emollient and really light emollients aren't awesome for rich buttery lip things :)

I am torn between this recipe and another that you did I think 2 years ago with the same title of creamy lip balm and you used stearic acid and cetearyl alcohol.
