We don't have many dryers here either in Singapore, and its really weird when you think about it - Both England and us are really wet and moist countries where air drying could really bite us in the arse if things take too long or if it rains, while in LA, you guys are in the desert and I would imagine air drying would take no time at all.
@Sadimal7 жыл бұрын
It varies. I live in a very humid area (mid-Atlantic US near the ocean) and air drying takes maybe 3-4 hours unless it’s cold.
@drowningin6 жыл бұрын
I live in Houston its a swamp. 100% humidity and it could be a crystal clear day then suddenly its about to flood then 5minutes later the suns out and no clouds. We have most AC in U.S. and have tried drying on poles but the bugs(swamp) and the sudden rains and overall humidity means you never see it. People walk to laundramats versus hanging clothes

Interesting how Finland is simultaneously like and unlike both UK when it comes to laundry. Our washing machines are not in the kitchen but in the bathroom (an entirely separate laundry room would be weird usually). On the other hand we don't usually have driers either (some do but it's more of a luxury thing than a necessity) which I guess is odd considering how cold it gets during winter.

Last year my hubby and I were sick when we flew to Germany to see family and I was so miserable the entire week we were home. I was so congested that I basically lost hearing in one of my ears for a few days. The pressure changes, dry air and being stuck in a tin can with a bunch of potentially also sick people is a craptacular combo. Glad you're feeling better now though! We went to see my family for Christmas too, but thankfully the sick didn't hit us until after Christmas eve, and not nearlyt as bad.

I can see how adding water to hot chocolate could be good, im not lactose intolerant or anyting like that but when i drink only-milk hot chocolate my stomach hurt like a mofo, And having less milk could probably help against that
@blizzard05087 жыл бұрын
Leone To me, hot chocolate has no milk. If you make it with milk it's just chocolate milk, which is best cold any day. Hot chocolate is sweetened chocolate water.

Hot chocolate recipe: 40-50g of milk chocolate, 12 oz / 350 mL milk, a bit of cinnamon. Or, 40-50g of white chocolate, 12 oz / 350 mL milk, 1/8 vanilla pod. Heat the milk carefully in a pot, stirr in the chocolate and the cinnamon/vanilla and keep stirring until all the chocolate has dissolved. Make sure the liquid is hot at all times but never boils. Once poured into a cup, stirr before drinking, it's not entirely emulsed, the cacao butter will slightly separate.

"Hot chocolate powder" makes no sense to me too. Just get 100% chocolate powder (from the baking section typically) and add your own milk and sugar to taste. It takes less time to microwave the milk than it would to boil the kettle.

I saw at least half of those "Sam hits his hand on his desk" moments. Sam even helpfully posted some of them on his channel. Hot chocolate is only proper if it contains milk. Here, the Thorne family is using the hot water to heat the milk; the side-effect of doing it that way is that is might dilute the milk's natural sweetness which in-turn leads to "Naming-no-names" to add sugar. I just heat the milk itself either in a microwave or a countertop mini-kettle. Just need to stop heating before it boils.

That's odd about the dryers, since the whether is often so crap in England. But I guess maybe that's why, because long before the invention of dryers, they were already adept at getting their clothes dry despite the whether.

Glad you are feeling a bit better now, if you have/had what I have, take all the time you need to rest. I started getting sick just before the 25th, it then ruined my Christmas dinner (no appetite & feeling sick). In the days, since I've probably only had 2 or 3 meals, and was sleeping only an hour or 2 at a time, waking up because I couldn't breathe through my nose... Constant coughing (to point of strained chest muscles) & constant running nose like a faucet. It totally drained me, so I can only imagine what that + an international flight would have done.

Doogs, my whole family here in Ireland have been struck-down with that same flu since Christmas Eve. You felt worse on the plane because air-con spreads sickness! It’s the worst! It’s also very easy to catch illnesses in colder climates so you’ll feel better in sunny L.A., I’m sure. It’s very common in Ireland to have a washer and dryer in a utility room/ laundry room separate to the kitchen. If you ever feel like touring the country, hit me up as your guide 😄 Much love to you and Sam xo

13:16 Are we really all that obsessed with laundry and dryers? I don't think so, at least from my own perspective. I just treat the laundry room as just a separate room, as a closet or the bathroom is a separate room. I would think, for instance, that it would be silly to have the toilet in the kitchen. Unless perhaps I didn't get your meaning in the video? What did you mean by the comparison of British and Americans when it came to laundry and, I suppose also, dryers?
