The Time Travelers should've left him behind, or wasted him on the spot. Unless we're going on the paradox theory and the like.

@Gfish17 but they probably won't listen. Either they'll say it was a dream, or another scientist (just like him) won't be able to resist making contact.

Will Smith had a line in I Robot that perfectly describes this scientist. "You are the dumbest smart person I ever met!" That wasn't the act of a brilliant man out to selflessly do something for the betterment of mankind. No, it was the act of a selfish manchild that knew the horrorible consequences of revealing his finds, but did it anyways out of selfcentered arrogant stubberness at grasping fame and bragging rights. Only showing that just because you may have a higher IQ than others. Doesn't mean you are wise enough to make smart choices, let alone for the right reasons. [Add the song You're So Vain here]

It's the old saying.... You might be educated but you're certainly not smart
@Gfish1710 ай бұрын
I really don't know why you hate him for revealing his findings. And how is hiding what you discovered going to prevent this future at all? What's stopping someone else from making the same discovery or the aliens discovering us? I'm not going to hate this guy like you seem to think is neccisary.
@thequietintrovert86059 ай бұрын
Slightly off topic, but the phrase "You are the dumbest smart person I ever met" reminds me of "You're the smartest guy I ever met, and you're too stupid to see, he made up his mind 10 minutes ago".

It wouldn't fix anything, it would just spin off a different timeline. Literally the timeline of him not saying anything already exists within the multiverse.
@vanessaashford92039 ай бұрын
I mean, you're assuming as fact one very particular theory of time travel here that's literally completely unproven, like all theories of time travel, because based on our current understanding of physics, backwards time travel may very well not even be possible. The basis of this particular theory is the "many-worlds" interpretation of quantum mechanics, which is also 100% theoretical at the moment, and despite its prevalence in pop culture, isn't not even the predominant theory among most actual physicists currently (which would instead be the Copenhagen interpretation, which is just that quantum uncertainty is actual true indeterminacy, and quantum phenomena exist in an indeterminate state of overlapping possibilities called a "superposition", until one particular possibility is observed, which collapses the superposition and forces the system to assume that form). Really, no multiverse theory is currently more than pure theoretical speculation, and we don't even have the means to test most of them. It's equally possible (if time travel is even possible) that there is one universal "timeline", and that it's simply not possible to alter it in a way that disrupts causality (this is called the Novikov self-consistency principle) because physics just won't allow such a paradox.
