Your new RV is awesome! I know you don't plan on doing a lot of videos this year but I hope you do some showing the modifications and repairs. That would be interesting to watch. Congratulations!

Thanks for making this video. Very informative. I just saw one of these online today. Looking for a smaller class A for next year when I retire.

She's a beauty, Gordon. Airy and spacious, with a beautiful kitchen and bathroom and super quality woodwork. Can't wait to see what you do with her. Would have been nice to get a look at the engine bay though. Maybe on the next vlog. Upload when you're ready Gordon but don't leave it too long, mate. We get worried :) I think it's natural for you to have more views on the vids where you are actually fixing the Queen up. I'm positive you'll start getting more views once you start working on the Safari. By the way, have you thought of a name yet? Hope your Mum and dad are doing ok.

Congrats, I have a 2002 Trek 2830, mine has the same emerald green accent color as yours, ps if you want new headlight bezels the ones on the 01/02 Trek came from a 1990-99 International 4700 medium duty truck, the rear tail lights were from a 91-94 E series Ford van. On the gas filler try holding the nozzle upside down. p.s. the blocked in space over the driver seat is the blower for the demist fan (which I have yet to use on my Trek in 4 years and 20,000+ miles of use). Also the Monaco buyout was in July of 2001
@RamblinMichigander3 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks! That’s good info. I was wondering about the tail lights. I knew Monaco owned Safari by 2002 but didn’t know the exact date. But I don’t think they had much input on the design and quality until 2003.

@@RamblinMichigander You are right the 2002 Trek is fundamentally a carry over of the 2001 model, with a few minor changes, and a few mostly painless cost cutting measures, ie 1 color scheme offered with a choice of 3 accent colors, vs 3 complete color schemes as previous model year. Or wood floors becoming optional in the kitchen, with roll vinyl being the new standard. On a side point the Dame family is still doing murals or were a couple of years ago check dennisdame.com

Planning a trip ourselves, stuck in NM heat for now...

Oh, sell Queen ASAP. Huge van market due to RV’s being sold out because of Covid. I am sure you will get top dollar and sell it really fast!
@Strangekitty20003 жыл бұрын
For real! It took me all summer to finally get our camper. They were being sold as fast as they came in.
@rvboondocker25593 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Just sell “as is” because they’ll do there own thing anyway. 😀

I like to know the size of wooden blocks you used in the nose part over the cab of your dad's class c and if the man that helped you rebuild it would be interested in building me the same thing and what the price would be. Thanks James

Have a PDR (paintless dent repair) specialist come and pull all those dings out. Save the panel and paint. It should be in the low hundreds of dollars.

With the bed down, can the driver comfortably drive or does it cause the driver to drive with the seat too straight up to be comfortable? Great video! (+1 Sub)
@MrSgtslawter2 жыл бұрын
You can't drive with the bed down but mine has an original Jackknife sofa that is good for naps and can be used while driving.

Great Video! Thats the Trek I was looking for. I ended up with a 28' 2002! Which is actually closer to 29', 28'7" I think. The Bath and the Bed was what convinced me too. The blue eyed smow tiger mural on mine still looks decent. I hope to see the Green stripped (I'm blue) heir to the Queen in the future!

welcome back and happy travels with that interesting coach. elevator beds are just coming up in the tiny rvs we have in germany (like the adria 640 sgx) and I am surprised to see it in US.
@RamblinMichigander3 жыл бұрын
This is the only model I’ve seen with that type of bed. I’m surprised they aren’t more popular.
@penguin2723 жыл бұрын
@@RamblinMichigander It depends... We decided for an elevatorbed in our tiny adria (6.4m long 3.5to) to get two things. To have the bed permanently ready and to have a "huge" storage underneath for out folding bikes. In our g20 tiara (which is of course no rv but just a van) I replaced the sofa by a self made bed but that was no good. The ppl here don'T want to prepare the bed but just want to use it. personally I would wip of you huge bath and rearrange to have a bed in the back as an option on the ride
@tracy30663 жыл бұрын
@@RamblinMichigander I bet they will be more popular now that people have seen yours! I know if I was looking for a larger RV this type of Safari would go to the top of my list! The bed is awesome!
