I really appreciate your words. In the past couple of months I kind of felt like Maverick and how he just couldn't engage. That was me since about Halloween, and it just continued all the way through the holidays. One of my favorite days of the year is January 2nd. Pump ran dry. Likely the seals between motor, went end, and the seal plate to the wet end. Also change the motor shaft seal bearings. Should work

I would recommend checking the 2/3 way valves o-rings, mainly the small o-rings in the handle, they tend to go bad and is hard to notice. The valves in front of pump you can check by first removing the handle so you can see better then turning filter ON (builds pressure) then turning off and if water squirts out the valve handles they need replace, this trick only works for suction valves. Other problem would be suction coupling are getting air and maybe the black stuff you added is not working, when that happens i always add silicone glue works great. or pump unions need tightening or relube. Hope you found the problem, but am sure its something in the suction side.

I have already replaced every O-ring on the section side. I spray Flex Seal on each Union as an indicator as to where I have examined. I don't depend on it to stop leaks. However, it has been an easy, quick fix in the past. I really do it just to show where I have examined. I believe that this is a shaft seal leak.
