Wat Phra Kaew is home to the Emerald Buddha and is the private temple of the Thai king and royal family. According to ancient tradition, the king of the kingdom would have a temple built in the palace grounds for religious ceremonies. And in the Grand Palace area, there is a model of Angkor Wat built as a symbol of the occupation. If I remember correctly, the ticket to the Grand Palace also serves as a free ticket to see a Khon performance at the Chalermkrung Theatre, with a shuttle bus in front of the Grand Palace.😊

Welcome back again. Please beware of groups of thieves in tourist areas. They usually work as a team, one person will be in front to distract and another person will come in from behind to steal. Importantly, they usually come from neighboring countries and can speak/understand Thai. When they commit a crime, they will immediately return to their home country.
