We have two Frenchies and have made their food very simliar to this for years and they have done well with it. Much better than just dried dog food from the bag.
@mst51589 ай бұрын
What do you feed them
@aznsinner739 ай бұрын
@@mst5158 We make them sweet potatoes, ground turkey or salmon, mixed veggies (peas/carrot mix, sometimes will add broccolli) with a spoonful of plain greek yogurt on top. We make a batch once a week, feed them twice a day. They love it and have done way better than dried dog food. We used to add a little dried food with this but decided to completely take out the dried dog food.

Is this cool for them to eat twice if they are about 6 months? I’ve been giving my pup good kibble that I was recommended to use but I wanna switch to foods like this to make his coat shine because he’s a Merle
@Exoticfrenchieboutique Жыл бұрын
Oh yeaaa, twice a day is cool.. we feed our dogs 2-3 times a day and when switching food just ween em off the old kibble for a bout 3-4 days..
@jaybans420 Жыл бұрын
Would you recommended switching the kibble too? I use “Fromm heartland” it’s a pink bag he seems to halfway like it honestly but just not too sure which is a good kind to switch too if I were

So I was feeding my girl like this and they said she was overweight… are you doing this everyday or sometimes?? I’m curious to know how much did Tsunami weigh before breeding.. they keep saying Dream needs to lose weight…
@Exoticfrenchieboutique Жыл бұрын
Yea they eat like this 2 times a day sometimes 3 on a good day. Tsunami was 27lbs during pregnancy, now back to her normal weight at 23lbs.

We dont do dogwood at all. My lil man won't touch it and you just never really know for sure what the heck is in it. My boy eats a whole chicken a day, sweet pots, carrots, pumpkin, rice with some olive oil, his vitamins, and healthy treats & snacks. It's def working out better, thats for sure.
@whitneynorman16611 ай бұрын
What kind of vitamins exactly
@msprissmiss11 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. Smash sweet pots, pumpkin, carrots together, and once its all smashed I put it in a container. I steam a bunch of basmati rice and store separately. He eats half a chicken with this mixture & rice twice a day. Once everything's mixed it looks like a casserole. I'll add a little olive oil or flaxseed oil, mix that in. I give him dha/Ara vitamins which is found in mothers milk & is a necessity for all forms of development but especially brain. Dogs brains begin to deteriorate around age 6 so it's super important to keep it strong. The vitamins are necessary until age 2 but there's no reason to ever stop, really. Plus a multi-vitamin. Chewy has a good variety but ask your vet, honestly, not what someone pays him to say, but what's the best one fir your breed of dog. Large breeds require diff than small and some small breeds are different than others. My boy has already surpassed his 18lb mom, twice over, and he is a specimen. Theres so much in dog food that is bad, I don't care how they advertise it, but if you must, NO GRAIN FREE! Always research healthy treats because some things are bad and seem healthy like seeded grapes, the seeds release a toxin when ingested that can cause kidney failure. Its crazy. The treats I feed mine are 🍅, he goes bonkers for Tom's, and apples. I'll bake them enough to mash and give him homemade applesauce, with zero sweetener, and he loves that. Do some research and just see what your beebe loves the most. Hope this helps!

@Exoticfrenchieboutique it's not too expensive, either, he eats 1 chicken a day and sweet pots , carrots are always cheap, pumpkin can be tricky and any gourd will do, though your pooch may not like them all. I can assure you that he's not my only Frenchie I've raised this way and they were all much bigger than average & healthy as horses. At the end of the day dog food is about convenience and a one stop shop to get your pup nutritionally what they need, but most people don't know any better or are super busy. It's no different than a child, you take care, even exhausted, to feed them the best you can, and once you learn about it and try it you're hooked. I can maje about 3 days worth in advance, I don't suggest freezing or going longer than that as freezing depletes the veggies of their nutritional value. Oh, and I always soak any veggies I use in water to clean them, beforehand, and DO NOT take the skin off of the veggies, that's where 90% of the vitamins & minerals are. Obe you soak and cut everything up I steam for 35/40 minutes with about a cup, cup 1/2 of water, then when done I do not drain cause those vitamins are now in the water. Its then you take a potatoe masher and go to town mixing it all up. Oh, and I suggest keeping veggies seperate, meat sep, and rice seperate.
