My disability case has finally gone through all the extra crap after my approval from several months ago, and I officially got my first payment yesterday 😄 It took several years to get here, and it’s SO nice that it finally came

i love YNAB! the learning curve is a little steep, so i definitely recommend nick true’s or the avocado toast budgets’ videos to help with setup. they’re long, but they’re very comprehensive.

My January was taken by Covid. I'm slowly getting better now after being out for 2 weeks. February focus is health and repairing my liver, specifically. I just want a calm month.

My January was a weird liminal space because I was abroad all month visiting my in-laws so most of everything was disrupted in terms of routine etc. But did a lot of good planning and thinking about how I want the year to look. Now just trying to get back into the swing of things and reset my body clock.

I think I'm going to chalk January up to a Nope! kinda month. I pretty much worked my 40 a week, read a little bit, and made lots of ham sandwiches because I didn't want to cook. Didn't touch the Maksé planner, except to lug it to work and back thinking I'd use a lunch break to do some set up. Nope. I have finally set up my Feb calendar in my work bujo. Score a W there. And started writing something down that has been living rent free in my imagination for a while.....I'll use the last 30minites of the WFH day to release one order and start my personal planner. TBC......

2023 hasn’t started yet for me, January deadlines for work are a killer for me. I basically am doing two jobs at one time so my life outside of work doesn’t really happen. Now all of them have passed and I finished pulling my tax paperwork together I’m working on Goals, OLW and a course I started for my wellness.

My year has started out not quite as expected. Because of me having a chronic illness and pain our house is in a less than desirable state. It is very messy and my goals for this year are to clean the house so that we aren’t embarrassed to have guests over. Well, in the second week of January my husband had to go back in the hospital because his oxygen levels were too low. He spent most of 2022 either in the hospital, in rehab (medical, not addiction), or at his mom’s house because she could take care of him better and it was a lot closer to all of his doctors and therapy. That has also been a contributor to our house being a mess. Anyway, this trip to the hospital lasted 12 days and he’s home now but he’s in some serious recovery. So not much got done on my January goal of getting the master suite clean -- closet, bathroom, bedroom, etc. I feel like giving up on having a nice, clean house but I’m not. I’m going to keep chugging along and I’m not going to punish myself for not being on schedule like I’d planned. I’m hoping to get through February without any hospitals being involved. I am proud of how I did in January with my no buy and my savings goal. I managed to save $345.00. I can’t have a savings account because I’m on disability and if the state sees I have extra money my disability will be cancelled. This savings, however, came from a birthday gift from my grandmother. So anyway I have a money jar and each month I will write down how much money I have at the first of the month and at the end of the month. I’m saving for a lift recliner for my husband first, then I’ll be saving for a new bed and mattress for my daughter. I hope you and I both have a good February. Hugs!

Yay on bringing dialysis home! My first of the year has been pretty good. Been getting things done and actually staying on top of my todo list.

I had started well first two weeks of the year but then the budget issues of work taking more out than they should have has FUBARed my life. I need to find another job that pays better & treats me better but I get so stressed & physically ill from job searching it’s rough.

2023 is going pretty well so far. I'm doing ok on actually doing the steps I plan for my goals so that feels good, and I'm also being kind to myself when I blow some of them off. I had a light bulb moment yesterday that I need to place more value on my goals even tho I don't "have" to do any of them - they're still important! I'm loving the Makse life weekly (your cover makes me smile every time btw 😊). I think of you often, I'm cheering you on! You are amazing and special, and I love that you're feeling a bit better even if the dialysis is a big pain. You give so much to so many, you're the best. Really. 😍

I’m so glad you get to come home! We did home hemo with my husband and it was the best thing (for the situation of course) Not sire which option you’re choosing but again I’m glad you have that option. Been thinking about you ever since we first spoke about it years ago. Keeping you in My thoughts. ❤

Good luck bringing dialysis home! If you do go with YNAB, I'd love to see your review of it. I'm considering it, but it feels fairly pricey.

January was an unwanted extension of December at work and I barely got through it. Planner setup never happened and my goals are still coalescing somewhere in the ether... so taking on the philosophy that new starts are NOT a Jan 1 thing Im trying again this month. 🤞🏽

Hi Cindy, I am likely getting diagnosed with lymphoma this week. I have completely fallen off of goal setting but don't want to abandon everything should a cancer diagnosis be coming. I anticipate having to do chemo treatments but feel like I could possibly work on smaller things in between? Since you have moved to dialysis, do you have any advice on prioritizing when you are ill? My goals were set before this came on my radar...
