yeah That sound was a one-off ! The machine made that sound as it was powering down... clearly something wasn't right but yeah.. amazing !

Welcome back Cris ... another excellent chapter to the CMI story ... this is epic ... once all of this is done and dusted, you have to make a CMI playlist with ALL of your videos (in order) so that we can binge-watch this series... PS: I've been hooked on Fairlights since they came out in 1979 and even have the brochure and other promo blub that Fairlight mailed to me way back when.

A tip from someone who's fitted 100's of xlrs in panels,chuck the hole saw away and invest in some q punches.

For the back panels, I was wondering if painting them black first, then white would mean the lasering would expose the black paint underneath, then not need touching up.
@CrisBlyth Жыл бұрын
y’know that is a technique that is a known thing and I think I should give it a go next time!

Ive enjoyed your wild journey so much! I love the idea of bringing old computers back to life! I have an old Amiga 3000 that I still boot up from time to time to run Bars & Pipes midi sequencer and some fun 8 bit audio tools... BUT! I am commenting because of the AMAZING SPOCK HEAD on screen at 56:45!!! Haha!! 😍

8:58 LOL One time I was looking at some pictures with my mom and there was a picture where I was doing something and making that face, and I said, "What's this about? I'm sticking my tongue out like a crazy person!" and she looked at me a little funny and said, "Honey you always do that when you're working on something." I identify a little too well with the vibe of this video. Sometimes the littlest detail gets my attention in a way where I'm putting things in CAD just to get the measurements right and spending a week on something really inconsequential, and sometimes I'm like WTF let's go we can halfass this a little. 😀

Dude you HAVE to figure out your backplane problems
@CrisBlyth Жыл бұрын
Yup… the only thing is to replace all the connectors on the backplane.. BUUUT the issue is finding the right thickness and also not screwing it up :)

was the audio in the public sections messed up on purpose?

sadly, no.. it’s a bug in Resolve.. don’t use any of the ‘voice isolation’ or ‘dialogue cleanup’ tools… arrrggggg

Wonderfull project. I'm a bit confused. Is this channel related to the synth shop syntaur?
@CrisBlyth Жыл бұрын
yes, the whole thing wasn’t thought out well, which is my bad. I started with them on my channel and the Syntaur thought they might to better on theirs also. So, we put new episodes on Syntaur first and then on mine usually a few days later
