No it doesn’t, I have been in stores like these and to offset the cost the store overprices their products they sell and in two years are out of business. Why would people pay more for an “experience “ when they can save 50% and buy the same thing and have the items delivered to your door. High end stores and most stores in general are a thing of the past.

Love your videos! I work with Vets, who battle PTSD. I’ve introduced them to the hobby, because hobbies provide them with necessary “downtime”. An idea is you could add like a restaurant or like a snack bar with drinks like that because when everyone is hanging out people will want food just made sure to keep food away from cards but that would also do well

It's crazy when you were telling your story, I just related so much. There was a guy that seen a 13 year old kid that loved cards I was in his shop daily. He gave me a job and couldn't get rid of me from that day on. That man changed my life by giving me something positive to do. I would love to do the same thing for some kids myself. I closed down in early 2000s though.

Geoff, imagine if you pioneered buying graded cards online. You can have a team of buyers check online scans of graded cards and negotiate a price. Then we ship you cards and you pay once received. Easy.

The East Coast's Burbank Sportcards and then some. Parlaying your social media notoriety into a brick-and-mortar that'll allow for (assumedly) better distribution agreements with Fanatics and other proprietary owners while continuing to expand your hobby presence through recorded interactions with customers is just good business sense.

This is definitely very ambitious, especially with the uncertainty around the state of the economy. eBay is the biggest sports card marketplace in the world and it is open 24/7 as well. I think you have the edge when it comes to the virtual store as eBay still has such a bland look despite being so big among sports card and collectible sellers. I am not a fan of breaking, but I like that you are trying to make it an entertaining experience. With that said, I will be putting it on my card shop tour in the future. I like the vertical glass cases like Japan, which makes it much more easy to see.

Looks like a great idea, best wishes on your venture. I like the vertical displays. We had a card shop in the Minneapolis/St Paul. The had 7 or more locations, in the 1970's thru early 2000's, and had the vertical displays. They also had a vertical catalog with cards on each side, that you could page thru. When they sold out, the new owner had drug issues and the chain closed down.

They didn't give 2 damns about owning a card shop before visiting Burbank. He only got into cards as a "side hustle" and announced so on his facebook page about 4 yrs ago. It is just another business model for them and that is all. If they truly care about owning a card store and being part of it they should be the manager of it then too. It will just be the two people he had shuffle around the floor with him showing where things are gonna be.

You should have in store live bidding on products! And theater seating! I imagine people will be able to rent out the break booths? That way, they can promote your business with them breaking there? Live pay per view sports events on tvs! A card holder wall that moves from top to bottom like a conveyor belt would be sweet! A PSA in store grader would be cool!

Just looked at the requirements for general and retail manager positions. I think it might be difficult to find somebody that is trustworthy to become general manager and retail manager with deep knowledge in sports and/or gaming cards. Not a whole lot of people out there with those qualities and manager experience. Hope I'm wrong on that. I do have over 20 years of experience in all of those areas. Currently working as a manager, with 24 years of experience selling sports and gaming cards. But I wouldn't leave my home city to move to Atlanta unless the pay is something I can't refuse.

I honestly still don't have a final opinion about this, But, i've never been into a US carshop and what trully surprises me is the fact that vertical display is seeing as a major breaktrough. Collectors use to display theirs cards in vertical forever. How wasnt it in use in US local shops? Jesus.
