20 years ago I speaked to a few watch makers that are really really big brands at a dinner , I was young and into hiphop so since I had in my bag a couple hiphop magasins I showed them., they did not said bad things at my surprise 😲 , they said things like "the presidential by Rolex is a bit like that" , "it is a different still , it is not bad but.." but I could feel that for them it was more of a niche thing in the market . It is tru that in Europe the bling bling thing was considered a bit vulgarious if used as a casual daily thing at that time , rivers of diamonds was more of a thing for special dinners and special events for vips etc.. My oppinion is that this brand got a lot more taste now , it is more classic and refined . The complications are fun to look at , cool .
