I’m CONFLICTED… But Should I Be?? (Dale Hollow Practice Vlog)

We are at Dale Hollow putting in our time trying to figure it out. This is a great lake and guys are going to catch them this week. In this practice video I bounce around between the deep fish and shallow fish seeing which one is looking like a stronger play for the tournament.

In every fish counts format, FFS is a must. Quantity over quality. 5 fish you have a small chance hitting the bank. IMO

You gatta learn how to find that perfect balance between the two sides. That’s how the guys who find the most success are going to do it. You gatta find out how to balance shooting 3s and getting nasty in the paint on them boys. The 3 point shot(finding good fish shallow) is always going to be lethal, but you gatta hit the shots. And there are gonna be times that you really just need to get a little nasty and go get that & 1 in the paint(FFS). Throughout the course of a game, you need both. It’s just knowing how and when to take em.

Every single winning spot this season for BPT and RedCrest has been found DURING the tournament. Since the MLF format is so drawn out, it seems like you just need to practice for the best day 1 you can possibly get to give yourself time to find the best spot for knockout and championship. You were 2 warm days away from the shallow bite to be competitive in the actual tournament. Not win, but competitive. Dhl is a funny lake. Ffs will always be king there now that it's a thing, but dragging the c rig or hard head around catches the bigs. And it blew my mind that nobody had a spinnerbait tied on. Like, nobody. Spinning rods as far as the eye can see lol

@@CHASIN_A_BASS these people aren’t the people who actually watch the tournaments and pay attention. Which is why I think it’s comical that they think they should be allowed to decide the direction tournaments go in regards to FFS. They don’t have boats, they don’t buy sonar/mapping units, they don’t buy gear, and they don’t go fishing. They probably have a 30 year old Zebco 33 with line so dry rotted it wouldn’t cast a split shot without snapping, because it hasn’t been used in 10 years. These are the kind of people that are on social media crying their little hearts out about the future of tournament angling and the advancement and use of technology.
