Honestly I feel like if the story focused more on Moose balancing his life as college student and a dancer other than Luke and Natalie drama, the movie could’ve been better but overall this one was my personal favorite cause it introduced me to a lot of my favorite dancers who inspired me as a dancer too

In my opinion, Step up all in is the best one and is very underrated when it comes to this franchise. the story line is good and a little bit on the emotional side then the others. it’s a lil cringey as well but the dancing scenes are good and entertaining as hell. so i hope you can be able to react to it!

I saw this in theaters. And it was called Step Up 3-D, not only because it was the 3rd movie, but because it was In 3-D, and you wore 3-D glasses while watching it. It's why in the romantic scene where they're using the straws, and the slushy comes out and goes up, it's filmed that way. The slushy was actually flowing out the screen in 3-D. It was a very cool effect. And other stuff, like the dust off the guys in the 1st battle, or Moose kicking up the water, would come out of the screen. Made it so much fun. Also I love the 4th film, Step up Revolution, has one of the best dance sequences in the whole series.

Step Up 2 and 5 are my favorite. 2 is just so nostalgic for me it’s a childhood classic. And 5 wraps the whole series in a tight bow. It feels like everything came full circle. As for your opinion on 3 I 100% agree now. Dancing is amazing but the best dancing is still yet to come as 5 hands down has the best dancing imo. But as a teen when I first watched you don’t really care or notice the cheesiness as much. It kinda adds nostalgia to the films as I watched 1/3 during my childhood. I don’t know if you’ll like 4 as it’s a big switch up to the style of 2 and 3. The only thing I real like in 4 is the pacing, it’s very cinematic, and the final dance scene. But 5 makes up for it imo as it’s has everything from decent acting, returning dancers, arguably the best plot, and the best dancing.

I get that the acting isn't always the best, but personally I prefer they use actual dancers when it's a dance movie otherwise they end up using stunt doubles and the actors most times can't dance 👀. Plus I like that they gave opportunities to many dancers to shine, wish they still made movies like this.

3D is top 2 for me but i think it served as the building block. I think 4&5 was able to improve the acting while still keeping up with the dancing. The main character in 4 had to learn how to dance from the main female but it worked imo because throughout he improves
