QUESTION - How far apart do you start the seeds so that when one say, tomato plant, is finishing the next is starting to produce? Ive never needed to worry as I canned & froze what I grew for my family & mom. Now my boys have their own places & family so it's just hubby and me. I can no longer do canning. I would LOVE to do the freeze dried system, but $$$ won't allow it (too much $$$ to medicine & mobility aids). Anyways I want a plant or two of tomatoes, green beans, crook neck summer squash, zucchini, and corn. Maybe pinto beans for canning (their easy) so I want to go out pick the veggies and cook them for dinner.

Jason, I think we all know how you feel. You've grown something from scatch, put a lot of love and energy into it. You put igt onto the farm stand so you can sell it. And people are buying it whether it be vegetables or flowers and even eggs. To make all that bigger and better. You should be proud of what you've done. We are all proud of you ❤
@DebbieSimmons-wl8wq10 ай бұрын
Jason the Amish in Tennessee use coolers. I think it would work perfectly for your eggs. I would take an empty milk jug and clean it and fill with water and freeze then place it in the cooler each morning with your eggs. That should keep them plenty cool. You could just swap out 2 jugs and keep one in the freezer. Just a thought!🍳🥚

The thing is, having the glass front on the fridge helps sales because folks know they can see from the car whether there are any eggs. I'm convinced that's a factor in why sales have really amped up. They need an outdoor-rated fridge, which is expensive and may not be cost-effective.
@backroads_traveler10 ай бұрын
@@victoriabaker4400 Unfortunately those glass front fridges will not take the abuse of being outside, even if they are a commercial fridge, and though they’re a little bit tougher, on the exterior, they’re also a lot more finicky. I used to own an appliance store and all the outdoor fridges that we recommended were a used top and bottom, freezer on the top refrigerator on the bottom that is at least 10 years old, the reason being is the newer fridges just can’t take the abuse of being outside.
@diannabrooks10 ай бұрын
But this broken refrig still would be great for farm stand. And use a flatter ice container s/a gell pack for injuries would be smaller than a gallon milk jug and would not leak. 😊

This would be so very interesting and educational for children of all ages. It might get them very intruded and therefore get their parents involved also. Especially since groceries are so expensive and sometimes more than not are not at all as good from the store. Young adults and children would be so much more apt to eat a fresh grown vegetable that has a great flavor. Wishing Brooke a huge get well. I think about her often and she gas been in my prayers. I also use them to transfer to the frig if the power goes out. Several milk jugs will keep a frig cold enough for several days if you keep the doors closed.
