This was a tough one. Some openness and honesty from me: I feel embarrassed for losing my temper when she wouldn’t listen to me and I yelled. It was an immature response, but I don’t ever want to cut anything just to make me look better. I anyways want to be as open as possible. I feel such a connection to these people and I truly want them to do better… it’s really tough to see someone go down this path.

Not sure if he ever actually did do that. But things like food stamps, He refuses to use my card if I offer to let him. Because he has worked to not have to use it. I asked him one time and realized I shouldn’t have asked! But people like this ? They need to grow up and continue doing what they grew up doing until they’ve worked hard enough to get out! I’m currently living worse off than I grew up and working my ass off to be like my parents who did just that.

I have never understood this mindset. I own my own car and have it completely paid off, but if the area I live in had public transportation, I would 100% sell my car and do that. I would much rather not have to deal with routine maintenance/insurance costs, re-registering every year, and god forbid anything breaks down. Plus it would be nice to be able to just read a book or watch a video or something on my way to or from work instead of having to focus on driving.

The bus part is CRAZY to me. I live in Miami and bought my dream car which at the time was a Jeep wrangler 4xe. I paid over 50k and kept it about 2 years. When I went on my financial journey, I realized it was costing $800 a month in car payments, $300 insurance, and gas/charging. I realized even if I took Ubers everywhere o go I’d still be paying less so I sold it which covered my 30k loan and had additional cash leftover. Now that I’m car-less, I started ube ring and decided to try the bus for the first time. Now I’m obsessed! It’s only 2.25 to ride the bus here and we also have a train near downtown. I got a $25 a month citibike membership and now I never have to pay or stress about parking, getting gas, car maintenance. I recommend this way of living so highly now!

I loved my city girl time when I was in college in Portland OR. I lived nearby all the best max train stops and I didn't have any stress riding bikes, taking busses, trains. I was Sooo stress free about transportation and obsessed because I could eat breakfast and sip my homemade lattes on the train to work or school. Some People looked down on me quite a bit because I didn't have a car, but they stopped laughing when they had maintenance issues, stolen interiors, always late to class or work because of parking, pay monthly apartment parking, and when they heard me say “Well, because I don't have a car I saved up $20k. I work with adults that have mental disabilities and you'd be surprised at how much they can blend in like this girl. Most people think of down syndrome when they think of mentally challenged but on the other side is this. She may just be a person who has a 78 IQ and the cut off for receiving help is 70-75 IQ. From her past interview it doesn't seem like she has a caring mother. It's possible her mom never cared that she struggled in school and didn't try to get her help. When she said" I don't do math" and Caleb said " this is 2nd grade math" followed by her giggling it confirmed it for me. There were also moments where her eyes would gloss over and I knew she wasn't understanding what he was saying. It made me so sad. There so many people like this and without getting the right support they end up in a vicious cycle. I pray she finds the support she needs. Girl if you're reading this don't be discouraged. This is sad. She reminds me so much of a coworker I had. We worked the same job, same hours, same pay. She constantly would ask me what to do with finances because I would be able to pay all my bills, take trips, buy what I wanted, and still had money left for savings. We'd have the same conversations over and over about packing a lunch, not buying coffees etc. And she 'refused' to give up pretty much anything. She would sit there and cry about how life is so hard and why is she so broke . Baby look in the mirror!! You're the one in control. Do something about it 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, my point being, some people are not able to be helped until they finally get tired of their own bullshit.

Sorry but I have to highlight just SOME of the red flags with this one: -Couldn't remember the plan from last time, took no action to find the video or email Caleb -Refuses to get rid of car she is in negative equity for -Refuses to pay for parking and refuses to pay for car insurance -Has access to FREE public transport that she ignores -Admits being late twice in first month of job -Admits to clocking in then leaving to park for 30 minutes - literally fraud. Doesn't consider getting there earlier... -Has a job that gives her free accommodation for just watching the kids on the weekend - yet has a Saturday job lined up from next month -Admits to texting from work ipad - doesn't see that this is fraudulent, just states that she forgot to delete it This girl is THE MOST entitled broke person I've ever seen. Yet she is banned from the premises and admits she took the job because it was very flexible

Caleb last met with Tyler 7 months ago, and at that time she was in school for a Dental Assistant certification while working as a Dental assistant. So what happened with that job? Her goal was to use the certification to earn higher pay but for some reason she decided to move to Louisiana and work at a casino around the same time as that episode. She was also living with her mom and then I guess as a result of all this she became homeless and lived in her car. Now she’s back in Austin living at the place she’s a nanny at, not with her mom, and took on another job and once again lost it. Someone tell me how this makes sense.

The point of the pull yourselves up by your bootstraps image is that that is physically impossible. However this individual seems to not understand the practicalities of working in a city centre, like parking costs, and if there is a bus option do that. Certainly don't clock in then go AWOL for half hour to go park - that will get you an angry supervisor at minimum; or outright fired as was valid.

It's, unfortunately, a problematic viewpoint from a Christian mindset. The issue is, if there is a god, everything's going to work out IN THE AFTERLIFE. There's no guarantee he's going to improve your actual life.

Mate, I don't believe a word that comes out of this girl's mouth. I honestly believe she is completely disconnected from reality. I wouldn't be surprised to discover, with more digging that she was the chief architect of her own downfall.

Her constantly saying "i refuse..." reminds me of what my pops used to tell me all the time. "Pride is a beautiful thing, if you can afford it!" Which she clearly cannot.

After watching a few of these videos, I am even more grateful my father preached financial literacy to us from early childhood so much. For the longest time I just assumed it was common knowledge and everyone had it. But it’s pretty astounding how many Americans are making it to adulthood without the slightest inkling of how to manage their finances. Please teach your kids this stuff early so they don’t have to learn by trial and error.

I feel like people decide their living standards based on their previous xp and opinion, regardless of their current financialsitualtion. Few people want to admit they are so poor they have to take the bus, cook all their own meals, etc.

I remember watching her videos quite a bit. It's like seeing the concept of victimhood being at full force. This is very heartbreaking to see her like this but it is clear that she hadn't learn a single thing from last few videos.

@@bng229832, yea, she was probably taught this sort of victimhood blaming everyone else (family) and she doesn't even comprehend it. Sad to see how one's life can be so dominated and ruined by just a few decisions. I mean she doesn't have that much debt, she has the car and some collections? Like she could be out of it in a few months if she just buckled down.

Ok so she kind of brushed by this, but it seems like she was consistently late for parking, was reprimanded, and responded by running in to clock in and THEN going to look for parking for a half hour. That's time theft, no wonder they told her not to come back.
