This was real talk… Thanks for the update! Proud of how you’re attempting to walk in purpose even when it seems to all get stripped away. And for documenting it… Keep walking bro! Question for you though, what is the ‘hypertrophic gym experience’ equivalent of turning your weight plates numbers side in?

@@trentforrest8192 thanks Trent. It’s been a journey figuring all this out. Or at least trying to. I definitely haven’t finished that process. I would think using straps for any exercise whatsoever. Even hack squats.

I used to ALWAYS get back pain for a few days after doing deadlifts/bent over rows/t-bar rows, then I just quit doing these because my mom has a long history of herniated disc and I think I am prone to back injuries as well. After switching my back exercises to all machines and they work totally fine for me and I am still making good gains. As for squats I switched to hack squats and as for bench presses I've never had any issues. I think you don't have to feel too frustrated just do what suit your body best. People are so obsessed with the BIG 3 merely because classical bodybuilders love them but more and more studies are showing free weight has no advantage vs machines. If they cause trouble, they are not worth the risk. Good luck and keep going bro.

This is about where I'm at. The obsession over the BIg 3 does get a little out of hand. Especially for non-competitive lifters. But the ego lifts will always be there for those people. Granted I still like the lifts and see their ease of measurement for comp sake. I just have to pivot and be ok with the change.

Many exercise machines have origins in a medical context, trying to provide a means for rehabilitation or prevention of injury. I am not a modern bro gym goer either but I definitely see the value in using machines as part of an exercise program to recover from injury.

@@maxpower8052 that’s the plan man. Bringing the bells out soon as well. Soft tissue work seems to be the best remedy as of late. Might buy a massage chair haha!

Hey man good to see you haven't given up. I know you probably get alot of unasked for advice from weekend warriors that have hurt themselves, but here i am lol. I was wondering if you have ever tried kinstretch. It is a bit boring to do but it has helped me. I did crossfit for a few months and then hurt my back....after doing my own research into functional movements I realised the coaches I had weren't good and didn't know what they were doing (and to be honest shouldnt have been aloud to have a crossfit gym. This gym doesnt exist anymore btw). I actually love the idea of crossfit and hope to return to it once I'm better and feel kinstretch is helping me in that direction. I follow a guy called kinstretch with beard if you wanted to look into it.😅

@@rhaegarxix5577 I’m up for anything. Even after all the surgeries I’ve still got the same type of pain pre-surgery. Seemingly all nerve related. Because everything “looks good” as the medical professionals say. What’s the cliff notes on the kinstretch practice?

You done with kettlebells fully? Or do you see yourself doing more kettlebells exercises
@WhoIsJonHarris3 ай бұрын
@@rob_rawks kettle bells have started to work their way back into my routine. Be on the lookout for kettlebell content in the next week or so. But I just needed to take a break from basically everything while I was in the main stages of recovering.
