I don’t think ‘Altruist’ is his last name. He was giving a hypothetical headline for if he had died. They clip words from headlines to save space, but the intended meaning would have been “Alastor the Altruist”, since dying to protect the Hotel members would have been an altruistic act.

I been saying this about Adam. I know a lot of the fanbase hate him and write him off as a chauvinistic, self-centered prick (which is very true), but I found myself feeling sorry for him when he was ranting, completely unmasked, beatup and ragged and he sounded confused, scared and desperate. It almost sounded as if his worldview and what he believed was cracked and he was grasping so hard to cling to it. In a way he honestly did believe what he was doing and what he knew, was right and it seems a bit tragic. Some part ofme kinda wishes that he might come back as a Sinner and maybe try to attempt redemption the proper way, but it probably won't happen. I'm not excusing his actions, oh no, but it just seems a bit more tragic to me that he clung so deeply to what he knew, especially after that tragically serene smile he gave before he died. @DarklightNamari9 ай бұрын
This is why I'm becoming more and more convinced that he made his deal with someone connected to the dark entity that was briefly referenced in the intro of ep 1. Not only has his shadow become increasingly more monstrous in form, the fact that he possesses shadow based abilities and powers is incredibly similar to the Disney villain, Dr, Facilier, and BOTH characters are practitioners of voodoo. I have a strong feeling Alastor is in a similar situation that Dr Facilier was in over his deal with his "Friends on the other side". Alastor is desperate to get out of this deal and another thing I noticed is that, he is the only Sinner so far who has a specific power set and type (shadows and darkness). He also never uses it wrecklessly either, unless he needs to. I'm almost certain he was granted this power in his deal, or at least, what power he had was heavily amplified, due to the finale making it clear that his Mic staff is a primary source for his shadow magic. Whether it be this mystery character Roo, the dark entity referenced in ep 1 intro or someone else tied to that darkness, I'm sittin on my theory for now that Alastor is contracted to this Darkness and he wants out badly. But, we shall see, I'm probably wrong xD.

Why do I get the vibe that Alastor is disgusted that he nearly died for others? Hence why he wants freedom after that experience but he's deal won't allow it and he is searching for a way out. His deal has to have something to do with him being stuck to the Hotel.

Lo mas probable es que tuvo que pelear por obligación de que charlie aun confie en el, no por que su trato lo obligue
@magustobias88279 ай бұрын
So it's a strange thing to consider when you stack facts: 1. Alastor doesn't ever seem to underestimate others, and is confident in his power but is aware it has a cap. 2. Alastor knew that only angelic weapons can kill Heavenly or Hellish souls, yet he didn't wield one against Adam, and was so confident he outright stated he was going to end his life. 3. His deal indicates not only servitude, but also a restraint on his power; hence, why he was so confused as to why Adam was able to nearly kill him. As he sings, "unclip my wings", meaning his "wings were clipped", i.e. freedom taken away and ability to do what is natural taken away. So my determination is that whatever the case may be, he is frightened by his power being limited, and therefore, making him more vulnerable than he likes. Crazy theory time: I think that Alastor wants, above all else, as an end goal, to be the ruler of Hell. In life, he was a serial killer kinda along the lines of Dexter, which indicates that he wants people to get what they deserve. He THRIVES on the suffering of those who deserve it, who cannot better themselves. What better job than to be the one who torments the deservedly damned for all time? To achieve this, he needs to have the throne. How to have the throne? Marry Charlie. Not for romance or anything, just so that he could be heir to the throne, and take said throne when passed to him. This also would explain in part why he has something against Lucifer; he's not really a great ruler for Hell. To Alastor, this could even be seen as insulting and offensive when the throne should rightfully be his, as he's of the opinion he's the best for the job. Remember the pilot, what he enjoys most is to see people, essentially, suffer in hell with no way out who fail to better themselves. He may have initially believed that those who are in Hell deserve it, but he has not once actually sabotaged anyone's attempts at it. Never tried to trick or mess with Angel, nor did he ever try to ruin anything for Pentius, and he EASILY could have. And that might be where things get tricky; how the hell is Charlie heir to the throne when they are, essentially, immortal beings in the afterlife that cannot die by natural causes? Welp. That means Lucifer's death, by his hands or machinations. So... Yeah. Crazy theory I've developed, but I think it fits what we know and have seen. Edit: regarding his deal with Charlie? I think all it's going to be is "Marry me." of which, he isn't asking her to harm anyone, but Alastor knows that she loves Vaggie, and would probably argue that he DID make her harm someone with the favor, to which he could then allow her to then separate and divorce the marriage, wherein he keeps the throne, and she can marry Vaggie. That's under the supposition that Charlie and Vaggie want to get married or if that is even important to them as an act. Buuuuut given that she's a Disney Princess of Hell, it probably is, lol.
@Phoenixillusion189 ай бұрын
@@magustobias8827 Honestly I had a similar thought. Something happenes to Lucifer that forces Charlie to take the throne of Hell. (dies, goes away , retires to build a duck caste ... doesnt matter ) Alastor comes in to the new Queen of Hell for that "favor without harming anyone". A.k.a "Abandon your throne and let me have it." Thus making Alastor the new ruler and maybe this way he can escape his chain.

Lilith owning Alastor’s soul made so much sense when we were looking at it from the perspective of a mother who wanted her daughter’s dream to have extra protection. Now we know she’s just a jerk who constantly tore Charlie from Lucifer during childhood, and ultimately abandoned her family. People have started to theorize that Eve might have Alastor’s soul. I’ve been wondering where she was this entire time, because we haven’t seen her in Heaven or Hell. Why Eve could want Alastor’s soul is murky to me. All my mind keeps going back to is ep 5 when Alastor said “It’s time I remind everyone why I’m here.” He earlier claimed it was to watch people fail, but he proceeded to protect the hotel. What if Alastor stops the overlords being reborn by keeping them (and their power) inside his head or inside him. Their souls are part of him, that is why he can broadcast their screams, becaue they are inside him. But in so doing he is living with the voices and agony of his fallen enemies constantly. He cannot release them because they would be reborn, but keeping them inside him is driving him mad, for 7 years he hid away, slowly having his mind broken by the constant wails and screams of those whose powers he has absorbed, the souls he has taken, before he could not take it anymore - so he made a deal with someone out of desperation, in my opinion one of the sins - this deal silenced the voices, but also held back their power, an unforseen consequence or perhaps a badly worded deal. He cannot get his true power back without the insanity returning, this has left him stuck in limbo while also being in service to another. But now a different kind of insanity is starting to take it's toll - being controlled by someone else. Now he is the prisoner. he is with Charlie because he sees it as the best way to unshackle himself - not because he has been ordered to be there.

Nice theory but it doesn't make any sense, he already had all the power pretty much instantly after he got into hell which means he made a deal for it BEFORE he started kidnapping overlords. I'm normally not a fan of the overdone cursing and sex jokes but somehow it works (perhaps cuase it makes sense in hell) regardless, I found the season enjoyable. Alastor's New VA grew on me and his last chorus in this episode really strikes home. This is the one time we see him going crazy and actually kinda losing it. Other then that, i do wish we had more of the V's but what we got we great. Overall, i enjoyed it

The leading thoery regarding Lucifer's involvement or lack thereof & the original deal with the extermination, was that Luci agreed not to interfere with the exterminators as long as they stuck to Sinners only, & didnt kill Hellborn. When Charlie's life came under threat, the deal broke, & all bets were off, which might explain why he only showed up at the last minute, despite being the strongest one there!

Here's what I've been thinking for a few episodes now, and what I thought might actually hold some ground during episode 7. I don't know if anyone else proposed this, I'm assuming someone must have but I haven't really followed theories. But Alastor brought up his deal explicitly this episode and while there's no way to know the full details of his contract, one thing I'm becoming more and more suspicious of is this: What is his deal forbids him from making any more deals for souls? *Specifically* souls. We've seen he can still make deals, but he laughed off the idea of making the deals for their souls each time, and even brushed off Rosie's offer when it would have been easy pickings. That last one especially was interesting, when it would have been an easy detour for him. And then saying how once he's free of his chains, he can start pulling all the strings. What if he's not taking any more souls, because he CAN'T anymore?

something that I think people don't seem to connect is the fact in hells hierarchy of power Lilith is on the same level as Charlie, just under lucifer. If Lilith is that powerful, and Adam is made the same as her, its logical to assume Adam and Lilith are on the same or similar power levels. Yet everyone seems shocked Adam nearly killed Alastor...

1. Alastor didnt go back to his old radio tower the one he goes back to in the song is the one we see haning off the side of the hotel in a earlier episode also i belive what shook alastor so much is the fact that this is his first true loss cause if you remeber back when penstiouse came to the hotel and handed back the scrap of alastors coat alastor mentiond no one had manedge to get even that much off of him it shows in all the fights alastor has been in he has always come out on top but to struck down by adam made him realize he isent that strong after all and it could be those restraints his deal holds that is limiting his power keeping him in check

The reason in the diegesis why they didn't kill Adam and the other angel is because the purpose of the hotel is to rehabilitate the demons. And when a demon proves himself better than an angel, what does that mean for the angel? For the demon? Lucifer didn't kill Adam because Charlie asked him not to. Vaggie didn't kill the other one (yeah, her name really doesn't stick in my memory) not only because it means that the angel will have to live her whole life knowing that she's a failure only being alive because that the one she despised deemed her too insignificant to be killed, but also because she believes in Charlie and that unlike Paradise, she intends to act in accordance with her words. Charlie is sooooo cool as a demonic princess. Lucifer is really adorable and in his full Demon's King form, absolutly gorgeous. Every time he is on screen I am happy. And oh my devil I got my money's worth. What did he do with Eve?! Is it just the apple or did she get fed up with Adam and went to have a threesome with Lucifer and Lilith?! If it's the latter option, who could blame her? My god Alastor! We love you but we fear you. Da fuck was that?! A theory I came up with is like this. For a demon to be redeemed it would take three things: 1) That he dies in hell so he can be re-tried 2) That his soul is “clean” whatever that means 3) That his soul is free, that is to say that he has not sold his soul to another demon. I wonder what the deal is with Lilith. We'll see that in season 2.

The more I think on the episode, the more questions I’m left with. I’m glad they are carrying over the Alastor stuff. Him suffering a defeat is a big deal, so I’m curious what his next move will be. And yeah Lucifer was absolutely amazing in this episode. I’m glad they showcased his power
@marieguillou88089 ай бұрын
@@MikeyVenture This allows you to put his power into perspective. Alastor is powerful enough to fight against Adam whose raw power is just crazy, but he remains vastly outclassed. Unless he was just pretending but I don't think that's the case and I wish I was right. Charlie on the other hand does better (and I don't think she has the experience of Alastor) and Lucifer totally crushes Adam. His transformations were just magical, he was watching the duel between Merlin and Madame Mim just before and that's why he was late. I wonder the psychological weight felt by the demons who sold their souls. Because of course, Alastor has always been crazy, but during the song it was particularly blatant.

I like to think that when razzle/dazzle (i can't remember which one died) died Lucifer sensed it, since he's the one who gave them life and started heading toward charlie

I don't understand why Charlie didn't call her dad and explain the whole, some one is coming to murder her thing. Even more so in Episode 1, we were told she had a pardon from the exorcists as part of a deal Lucifer made. So Adam was breaking a contract, also going to murder Charlie, and what not. It feels like a, he should really have been informed of the situation. A simple line like, "oh shit was that today?" or something like that could have been the lantern so it didn't feel like a bit of a plothole.
@zuzu68649 ай бұрын
@@TheJadeFistI like to think that he knew it was happening, he told Adam if he forgot he's in his house, so I think Lucifer should've been partially aware that this entire fight was going on but couldn't butt in until Adam went after Charlie. Other thing is also that maybe Charlie told him about it, or he just showed up randomly because we haven't seen where he lives so he could've just seen the portal open above the hotel.

Everyone saying that Alastor called them “friends”, like he “attached” to them But really I think he is just quoting made up title of the news or something Like something that would happened if he died and it’s obviously not something that he want Maybe he does care a little bit about Charlie and the others, but definitely not enough to stop all his ambitions And also about the “deal” I don’t think it’s about Charlie I feel like it’s about his soul, probably he is forced to help Charlie run the hotel or something (P.s. sorry if I made some mistakes, English is not my first language)

What's nice is you can actually hear husks in the final song, cuz normally you can't hear a lot of deep voices unless there's at least three or more, but the husk is the only one that has a really deep voice and you can actually hear him. I was in choir and when the boys sang unless there was more than three you couldn't really hear the deep notes when we all sang together, there were a few of their voices that did poked through but it was still kind of hard to hear them. Husk is the only really deep voice and you can actually hear him poking through the song

Another thing I can't stop thinking about is how Adam and Lute took Vaggie's halo when she fell, and Lute took Adams halo when he died, as if its significant like the halo is more important to take than the weapons. Which got me thinking about the beheaded angel. Adam and Lute found the body and the V's found the head, but it wasn't with the head when she presented it to the overlords. It's part of the deal. I feel like it'll be addressed that Adam violated that by trying to hurt Charlie. Loot mentioned that bcuz Adam is dead the deal with Lilith is done, I'm assuming because Adam was apart of it, along with Sera, Lilith has to leave heaven and deal with hell again because Charlie is no longer off limits.
