I think doctrine/commander choice is also a huge factor against Axis players. As Soviet, T-34 85 supported with SU-85 or IS-2/ISU-152/KV-2 could hold those Axis tanks. Penal troops with PTRS and "Torched" intel bulletin (which increase their accuracy) can still be useful in late game.

Skippy ! Got a strat for you. Perhaps you'll find it refreshing, as I see it working if done right. We mostly see Soviets on this channel. This time it's for ze Jermans: - 2 Commanders go OKW, both Fallschirmjagers (Luftwaffe Ground Forces Doctrine) - 1 Commander goes with Close the Pocket (Encirclement Doctrine) - 1 Commander goes 50kg Stuka bombs (Close Air support doctrine) 1. Firstly, you build munition caches. "Close Air Support" will help you with both fuel and munitions. 2. Then, the 50kg stuka bomb Commander keeps scout flying their backlines to plan safe zones for Fallschirms to land and Stormtroopers to come out of buildings. You then separate the map who is going for what points, and remember them. 3. What then happens is - you drop Fallschirmjagers behind the lines (you usually get them even before tier 4 comes out, 6-9 minute mark). You hide them, hold fire. Storm troops - also. I suggest 1 storm squad to be deployed early in the in some obscure corner of enemy teritory, so it lurks not seen. Then you have 1 more storm squad at the ready (manpower). 4. Enemy will also have caches. Hidden Falls can reveal their location, and you can either drop Stuka 50kg bombs on them and instantly deploy Storms out of buildings to cap them (or Falls), you can gradually bomb them with Air support until the enemy is overwhelmed and gives up rebuilding them. 5. Then when the time comes, you use both 50 kg stuka bombs from "Close Air support", "Break supply line" from "Encirclement doctrine" (and perhaps even "Breakthrough" to cap with vehicles), and you instantly cap with Fallschirms, Storms. 6. And at last, you "Close the pocket", and watch the whole map die. A few tips: - You play normal. Fight for 2 VPs. Perhaps even drain a few VPs, to give the enemy false sense of security. - Whilst you're fighting, or "pretending" to fight, keep planing with your buddies, who is gonna do what. It's your main objective. - I suggest either heavy heavy AT gun spam with a lot of retreating micro, or full 2-3 panthers without too much agression. AT guns will force enemy to build more indirect arty, and when you close the pocket, those paper vehicles/emplacements will die in a few strikes. If you go panthers, the enemy may build a lot of AT, which will have the same result after pocket close. Level up Panther's veterancy without dives - when the pocket is closed, their speed will shine. I suggest bulletins to go fully into these units. - Build powerful units in their own right that dont take up munitions, as you will need them later. - This strat is very devastating to most people, as they lose not only all VPs at once, their territory is decaped and they have worry about back yard. They also lose a lot of units. If you do this strat not too late in the game, they wont have manpower and fuel saved up, and it will be GG. - One thing you have to do is "let the enemy in a little", so that they build their emplacements and majors towards the middle. Which will free up the back lines for Fallschirms to roam around. - The composition of commanders is questionable. On some maps you may try 2 Stuka bomb commanders instead of 2 Fallschirm commanders. But the primary strat with Fallschirms is a lot of fun. It's somewhat a hard strat to pull off, and near impossible to execute perfectly the first time. Also could be map dependant. But I think the memes, the carnage and the road to learning from your mistakes might be a great treat for a video.

this is absolutely one of the main problems with Coh, since the first game: the ability for German players to just field a tiger or a panther at any time and completely grind the momentum of the game to a halt. Allies don't have anything that can do the same: the Churchill doesn't do nearly as much damage to tanks, the Pershing is a glorified medium tank on par with the Panther, locked behind a paywall. It's ridiculous. Axis players can easily dictate the flow of the battle with just a couple of units, while Allied players have to always adapt, and dealing with a Tiger spam just isn't fun. You're not getting worse, Skippy. It's just that dealing with german heavy tanks is annoying and not fun.

That was always my point. I think the game is fairly balanced, but that does not mean the factions are symmetrical regarding momentum and ability requirements. I see the learning curve is a lot softer on the axis side, and axis have a higher ground most of the game. But i let it slide bc it would be a crushing experience for axis players to learn how to deal with 3 different enemy factions that are so diverse.

That's just good 'ole KZbin compression. RTS games are notoriously difficult for compression because the action and interface is relatively small on a per pixel basis. Recording 1440p was stressing out my system too much anyway, switching back to 1080p.
