Hello from the Rialto Square Theater in Joliet, IL!
I am currently on tour with Post Modern Jukebox and had some time before soundcheck today, so our guitarist, Luca Pino, and I decided to film a little something for fun!
This theater was just too stunning not to capture a little but of it on video!
Luca is an amazing guitarist and musician from LA that I’ve had the pleasure to get to know over the past week, and he’s got such a love for older music and films like I do!
Since we have some time before sound check, we are going to try to do a handful of these little videos becasue they’re fun!
This song,"I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter", is a 1935 popular song with music by Fred E. Ahlert and lyrics by Joe Young. It has been recorded many times, and has become a standard of the Great American Songbook. It was popularized by Fats Waller, who recorded it in 1935 at the height of his fame.
This is honestly one of my favorite tunes!

Your Grannie's music is my Mother's music. I still have her Ink Spots album which was made before albums became 12 inch disks; they were only 10 inch at the time. Love this song. Fats Waller was just one of those song writer/performers who was a joy to watch. Thanks for this. Wished I could have seen him live, yet with this venue and all the others we can enjoy all the past and present greats with just a finger tap.
