I'm in shock at what the dentist said to me!

Yeah, make sure you find a new dentist. Also make sure your very clear! I had to tell these places multiple times! I want 1 dentist!! Not 1 on meet and greet day and then a new one on checkup day and another 1 on cleaning day... I had offices tell me "oh for sure!!" To have 3 different dentists see me. Secondly, wisdom teeth extraction! Is my pet peeve. It's like "oh your 14 see ya next week for wisdom teeth extraction... its not always necessary!! I waited 14 years no pain no issues, had an xray and was made to get them out to "prevent crowding" my had them taken out not pleasant at all my bottoms still crowd!! It's a money grab!! Be cautious, ask them to see your x-rays and explain why... thirdly, you brought up a great situation! One I just dealt with with my new dentist, which I adore!! Staining! I was told by my last dentist I had 8 cavities!! 8!! So dumb me off I went and in one sitting had 4 done. Which means I have 4 left???? Wrong!! Have mt new dentist and he found 1!! Not 4 no new ones!! .. some dentists are in it for money and charging huge amounts to insurance providers over stains!! Not cavities... my dentist showed me my x-rays the one where the device goes in your mouth and then they did a 360 panaramic xray of my head.. this 360 shows stains!! Not necessarily cavities and thays the only xray I was given at my last dentist. He told me my last dentist most likely filled stains and I jad unnecessary dental work done. Shop around for a new dentist.. good job and taking care of you!! Being your biggest advocate for your own health can be hard!! Keep up the hard work. Your doing all the right things... being called a liar, I've been there as well. There are avenues to report doctors. YOUR AWESOME!

It really unfortunate that we go to "professional" and receive this type of treatment. And you had unnecessary dental work, that's terrible! Wow. Please do not have your 4 teeth removed. Especially if they arent bothering you. Your goal is to keep all your teeth for as long as possible. I have had doctors say things to me that Ive been literally dumbfounded too. I had no words for them at the moment but I wish I had. How dare they talk to you that way! I

Thanks Eileen, I decided that I'm no longer going to that practice at all. More things happened when I tried to rescheduled my filling appointment with the dentist 6 months ago, to be told they are no longer with the practice... there are too many issues with this place. I'm going to just find anew dentist. I still cant get over what was said to me.

Was this new dentist young? She's got some dental school debt she's looking to knock out. Run, don't walk, and find a new dentist in their late 40's or early 50's. I'd be tagging this practice with some bad reviews on Yelp and Google. Or give me the name of the practice and I will do it. I am a Yelp Elite member and my review would be sorted at the top of anyone looking at the practice,

Yeah, get a different dentist. That's rude. Maybe she is judging you on your appearance, IDK, with the diet remarks. My daughter's dentist recommended she have her wisdom teeth out also, but I have not pulled the trigger on that. They don't bother her, and I spoke up to the dentist. They agreed to watch them for now.

That's great that you found a dentist for her that is willing to listen and work together with you. That's what I'm on the look out for, I decided I'm not going back there.

I get a new dentist . Just like I don’t like forward dental in my area. In my case, they were missing too much so I wouldn’t switched to a new dentist. and here’s the thing not every dentist is the same. Whether it’s in experience or lack there there of.

Make an appt to see the dentist who you saw before the cleaning, then talk to the practice manager re the issue with the dentist who saw you at the cleaning.

After I recorded this, that's what I tried to do.... and they are no longer at the practice, which then uncovered more things with the practice that made me even more concerned. I'm going to be looking for a new dental practice to go to.

Yup, cause a stranger typing "wrong" in all caps, who isn't a dentist is helpful ;) (and if you are a dentist, I would highly recommend Never giving sight unseen medical advice to someone btw) As I mentioned I'm going to be getting a second opinion from a dentist.
