Rudy also said he doesn’t think Unlimited is investible but never said why. I guess it will always have to compete with 1st edition, but if that’s the only stipulation than that seems foolish. It’s the same as saying Revised isn’t investible. I think the print run will only be 3 years, but maybe 5. They’d have ~13 more sets out in that time, if they continue their same pattern. That would be a lot to keep printing. Once it’s done though I think the price will go up. People will want Heart of Fyendals, but Alpha will be too expensive for most people, and that will shift unlimited demand.
@portalmasterry67653 жыл бұрын
It's all about timing and how long the game will last. If this game makes it another 2 years then you'd be missing out if you did not invest. Even if you invest in a few boxes the risk is relatively low. $100 for a box is nothing compared to current collectible prices. If you check market trends, established collectibles and their so-called unlimited and revised editions that are after the alpha or 1st edition sets are selling for a pretty price. The potential for this game is looking extreme. Once we get back to normal, you either missed on the train or you dodged a bullet. Even if game fails or stutters, it looks like people will potentially play with the game.
@youssefyounis91113 жыл бұрын
@Steven Delaney Everything is "Investible" but you need to consider it in terms of the Whales and Positions people like Rudy want to maintain. Unlimited will never hold similar returns even in percentages compared to 1st Edition, so why would they want to invest into Unlimited Boxes when 1st Edition is still somewhat available on the market. What Unlimited offers especially down the years if they do reprint and there is difference between print quality, is a cheaper alternative to those who cannot drop the $3k or $10k currently for Boxes of ARC and WTR. Will Cases hit the $50k mark on UNL in 10-20 years no, but cases could jump from the $4-500 we are spending now to about $4-5k or even $8-10k down the line if the game truly pans out the way everyone has Speculated it to do. Print Runs never last more than 2-3 years and most run like 18-24 months at best pending on how many sets are released.

I’ve been wanting to get into collecting again so I’ve been collecting unlimited and enjoy the art, game and lore. Magic is intimidating for someone new and other tcgs like Pokémon are over saturated with popularity and product. Flesh and blood sits perfectly in the middle, I’m loving it. Its ok with me if all I’m missing out are the cold foils. If unlimited doesn’t go up and just holds, I’m fine with that. There is still a lot of value in unlimited and I’m enjoying the ride so far.

I don't believe WTR Unlimited will be printed more than a few years, I think it would be crazy difficult to be printing unlimited versions of WTR, ARC, MON, CRU(possible) and Kingdoms plus all the other sets to follow all at once. Just a guess, so I think you do have a case to be made that these are undervalued. The concern I would have is if they reprint these staple cards in another set, not sure how often this will happen but definitely is another factor to consider. I think your math makes sense. Rudy has shown and used this level of percentage evaluation multiple times on his channel and it is never a bad place to start with TCG collectibles. My one counter point to this would be we don’t have long-term history data at this time showing how aggressively they will print Unlimited AND how aggressively they will reprint staples in future sets OR what they power scaling in this game will look like with future sets. For me, that seems like a lot of variables to bet on, so I’m currently keeping my Unlimited investments small.

I think prices will fluctuate, especially as FaB gains players and product is not readily available. I think, in a few years when product stays on the shelf and people move on and sell their collections, prices will drop again. When stores start buy-listing FaB, I think we'll have a better idea where prices will land.

I don’t know for sure, but I think you have it backwards. Alpha WtR is the premiere set, and more people missed it, by definition, than any other set. The 2 non-CF cards in the set ARE Tome and ES... so I think those prices are driven by whales trying to get these cards. Alpha WtR is more dried up than Arc. Since unlimited is basically print to demand, you can’t compare Unl percentages to Alpha like this.

Once the printing stops for unlimited, the numbers will increase by two or three fold. I guarantee you. We've seen this with Pokémon Base Set and Magic the Gathering Unlimited. The factor everyone needs to pay attention to is how many sealed boxes will there be once the market gets to that point. There are so many people keep these things sealed. Even if Flesh and Blood is a top #4 or #5 contender, the maximum value will never hit its pinnacle if literal warehouses of the boxes are still sitting sealed. What makes the unlimited boxes of all the other card games so valuable, is no one knew cards would become as expensive as they are now. So everyone opened everything up back in the day, and played with the cards. I think Flesh and Blood is going to be interesting though. People are applying knowledge we've gained over the last 20 years of TCGs to sealed products of a new game. It's possible we could see market swings we've never thought imaginable because of it
@portalmasterry67653 жыл бұрын
Based on my research, even the box losing value from $100 to $70 is not bad. Considering the prices of collectibles and the prices of sealed product, FAB welcome to rathe boxes are super affordable.
@burnance3 жыл бұрын
@@portalmasterry6765 I hope it does, so more can be opened. Once there are enough openings and the market realizes that sealed box numbers are dwindling, unlimited boxes for sure could be worth a couple hundred at first. Maybe even up to $1000 after a little bit of time, depending on how successful Flesh and Blood is and how hot the market at the time will be. There's absolutely no reason why a sealed box couldn't be worth 1/4th of the alpha box at market value. Could take some time, but as long as the game continues to grow, I honestly think Flesh and Blood could be a serious contender up with Pokémon, Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh. I can't even express enough how much I want that to happen. Not just for the secondary market, but because the TCG space needs something new, exciting, and stable. Competition is good for everyone, no matter if people playing the other card games want to admit it or not

Regarding not being able to play with a sealed box (excluding drafting) vs being able to play with the singles, you only need 2-3 singles to be able to play. So when it comes to investing in more singles than one actually needs in order to play, isn’t that the same type of value as keeping a sealed box? Someone can’t play with 4, or 5, or 10 E-strikes. They can only play with 1, 2 or 3. So idk. I think the price variance between Alpha and UNL is correct and good. I mean who wants UNL to be more expensive? That’d defeat the point of its purpose to provide an affordable opportunity for players to play the game. Maybe I’m misunderstanding your point. Thanks for sharing Louie

See I’m the type of guy that doesn’t like sharing cards in decks. So if I have 2 decks with 2 Estrikes, well now I need 4 foil Estrikes. Just me though. I have no position in FAB as I wait for someone to sell me some decks to try it out! LOL I am looking to invest maybe 10-30 boxes on unlimited WTR. I come from Pokemon and $100 unlimited boxes are cheap considering the current prices for modern sealed boxes. I would like to add that the key to this game's success is getting a graded card community going. This helped fuel the craze with Pokemon and FAB has a component that makes collecting it worthwhile.
@shipleypestsolutions3 жыл бұрын
I like the comparison to Alpha. I believe the alpha printing to be the more mature market AND investor/player base, therefore a more appropriate pricing. I think you’re correct to think UNL pricing should roughly be around 10% and I could see an argument for UNL to be somewhere between 10-20% of Alpha as playability and requirement for the playable cards takes off. Here is my opinion as a MTG player entering the FAB arena. I will be buying unlimited boxes, I will crack a few of each to play but I will be buying a few more of each as long term investments. If you play or understand Magic, the more they open and 5 years roll by, will 1000 of WTR Unlimited be widely available or 10 years from now. I think the way this product is being opened, I see it more valuable sealed later down the road. Just my opinion, but if your a collector/investor what's to hurt if you hold onto a $80 unlimited box of WTR right now, will you be excited to see it at $500 5 years from now? I think it's easy to see the long term potential with the box cracking going on right now. Just one man's opinion

I'm not ruling out anything. This whole thing is one giant case study inside of a movie between the increase in collecting, partially due to the rona, rona itself, and the quality of the game.
