hey don’t feel bad about not understanding the OMG video. lots of reactors even watched everything in order still did not know what was going on 😭😭 This video is about the delusions we have about our selves, and how far those can be from reality. All five girls have a delusion they grapple with: 1. Hanni - she believes she is Siri or an Iphone. Basically she believes she is a device meant to best service others. 2. Minji - believes herself to be a doctor, trying to cure the other members and putting them all in an ambulance, but also herself. 3. Hyein - She is thinking of herself as a princess, or a character from fictional books. We see her depicted as Snow White, who eats a poisoned apple and then wakes up not to a prince but a bear. Hyein seems to have regret for this decision, as she looks at a teddy bear forlornly later. 4. Haerin - She is very aptly playing a cat. In one scene all the other four girls gaze at a cat, and she later is seen eating cat food as the other members again stare. 5. Danielle - she is revealed to have the delusion of thinking she is NewJeans or an idol. We see her insisting to the others they are a girl group shooting a music video, and then a medley of videos of NewJeans play. There are a lot of fun theories and the MV is very much up to interpretation, but me personally I think it is essentially trying to send the message that in a digital age we are desperately trying to connect to others, but we do so through fake personas and identities, failing then to form real relationships.

Cookie is written about their debut album, cookie being the cd which comes from the term baking a cd in Korea, idk if it's used in NA but in my country it's baking or burning a CD disk. Koreans don't seem to see the other interpretation of cookie and literally understood it as baking a cd but I see both meanings, but i mean thats how their team explained the meaning as so I'm just gonna believe that and move on, the song just slaps.

New Jeans is just such a vibe. I think a lot of kpop songs like to build up to a beat drop or pinnacle moment in the song (which is great & works) but New jeans’ softer songs are refreshing imo

If you plan on watching some more of New Jeans, I’d recommend watching Hype Boy, Ditto, New Jeans, and Super Shy. They will also be releasing more music videos towards the end of July so stay tuned for that! Also a note for Hype Boy: there are 4 different versions of the music video which focus on different members and have different story lines. There is also a performance video of Hype Boy in case you wanted to watch just the one video. Anyways, keep up the great videos!!

@@user-xv3ivgirl, the concept of cookies=cd, that would mean, boy, take a look at my music, is not that hard to understand. I do think the song is confusing in english on purpose, cause that gave them outlook, but the girls and the music video (that came up before everybody started to say stuff), it all fit, so, i don’t think they would put cookies becoming cds on the music video as a coincidence.

Yes, you have every reason to assume "Cookie" is not about actual cookies since the song has a very scandalus double meaning. Newjeans are young, i dont know the exact ages but Im pretty sure they are too young to be singing those lyrics. Their label Ador shouldnt have gave that to them😭. You also reacted to "OMG" too early, you should have definitely watch their song "Ditto" first to understand.

Just so you can maybe learn about new jeans a bit more the members are Minji shes the oldest at only 19 years old ,Hanni is 18 and one of few Vietnamese kpop artist(shes also Australian and fluent in english,Vietnamese and Korean),Danielle who’s 18 and also Australian,Haerin who is 17 and then finally the youngest who is Hyein whonis only 15!Also they debuted under ADOR and HYBE labels,meaning they are under the same company as many other big kpop groups such as:BTS,TXT,ENHYPEN,LE SSERAFIM,FROMIS_9,SEVENTEEN,etc.

Ive seen that you recently reacted to nct 127, but thats just 1 of 4 "sub-units" 😅 Nct 127, Nct Dream, Nct U, and Nct Dojajoeng, which may be spelled wrong. In Korea a cookie means a CD and when they say they're baking a cookie they meant they made an album a CD and they want us to 'taste' it and if we get 'cavity' from listening to their songs so much it's not their fault. Also there are places called like "cookie room" in korea for like karaoke and stuff. But a bunch of westerner think that cookie is an inappropriate song and i found many Koreans get mad at them saying something like "just because it's like that in your culture doesn't mean it is in ours". I'm not Korean and i also used to think that it might be something dirty but let's understand that we all have different cultures and slang.

The song “Cookie” is actually about a cookie. They are baking a cookie to get the boy they like to come over to their place. Also it represents their album which is why the cookie becomes the cd at the end. It’s just that in the west cookie also has a sexual meaning and many people with their own dirty minds projected what they thought it meant onto the girls and song. It’s meant to be flirtatious and playful because they like a boy, but not the sexual meaning of cookie that many westerners know.

The sexual meaning isn’t the actual meaning 😂 No one’s naive, they’ve explained what the song represents, the video expresses it as well. This was only an issue in the west not in Korea, because cookie means burning a cd in Korea, which is the play on the words the writers had for the song. Its okay that you can’t not see it as sexual, many can’t, but that’s says more about your mind then anything else 🤷🏿‍♂️
